American Idol Voting Doesn't Make Sense
 

Ok now, last night, American Idol had 3 hours of voting after the show. Well, I thought for the hell of it, I'd place my vote :) Well, after trying OVER 100 times, just to see if I could get in, I gave up.

Now, this brings me up to my point here. Just say they have 100,000 phone voting lines for Clay and 100,000 voting lines for Ruben (I don't know how many lines for sure) and I'm sure with the last night, all of them were constantly busy for those 3 hours with people calling getting busy signals all night. I tried at the beginning and after a couple of hours into it and it was still constantly busy.

So, if that's the case where the voting is limited by the lines and if all of them are busy, how could there be an actual true count ?There could be twice as many people trying to vote for Clay, but if those people could only get in on the 100,000 lines were tied up constantly then the voting would be limited, equal to what Ruben was doing, rite ??? I suppose that for AT&T, it'd be pretty damn hard to whip up enough lines to take in every vote without a busy signal, just for a limited time like that.

I know, I know, a lot of you will probably say that it's all rigged anyways, which it could be, this is just my :2 cents: on the matter.

It's sad to see that Clay and Ruben make it to the final 2... this is suppose to be the best two in america? if so then they are definitely lacking talent!

They are by FAR not the best in America. I play with people all the time that can out sing (and out-look) them both.

It is what it is. A great opportunity to sell commercials. That is all it is ever really about or it wouldn't be on American television.

I listened to it last show, and I have to say that the group singing together sounded like a bad high school theater production...

most local small choirs could blow those howling coyotes off the stage easily

as for if the final 2 contestants

that reuben guy sounds good enough about 0.5% of the time and that guy clay sounded good in one song a few weeks ago, for one single verse

the thing is, that I think a lot of how shitty they sound has to do with;
#1 their considerable lack of talent
#2 the stupid piano player or arranger or whatever he is who coaches and prepares the singers. HE SUCKS

No, but no doubt millions will... rather more like a novelty record, and they you'll never ever hear from them again

We ran this concept on MTV with our 900 numbers. First artist we did, was this hot looking white dude that could sing like a Vanilla Ice kind of way and was a fantastic dancer.

We produced a 2 minute TV commercial we ran featuring his music video and then pushed the 900 voting numbers at the end of the spot to vote Yes, He's A Star or No He's Not.

The fucking guy was so excited when I called him after the first week cause I said to him "Mark, you're not going to believe how many calls you got. I could hear him literally jumping up and down thinking I'm gonna be a pop star now. Then I had to say yeh you got a lot of calls Mark but they voted 99 to 1 that you're not a Star. Fucking guy was devasted and never took our calls after that saying we had ruined his singer career forever.

I think a lot of people voted just to fuck him up deliberately cause he had a cockiness about him.

Anyway we did great regardless, which we knew going into the deal. How could we lose, if they loved him we'd get a ton of calls, and if they hated him we'd still get a ton of calls. So either way it was a well hedged bet.

Okay, here it is - the inside scoop on how the voting for AI works. Please don't tell who told you. It's really very simple. Last year, Tamyra was the obvious winner. But she didn't win. Why? Because she was the obvious winner. The fans got complacent. Well, the PTB decided that was not going to happen this year. Kim, Clay, Ruben - any of the three would have made a brilliant winner, but Clay is the Cinderella Story. I LOVE skinny geeks, but wow, Clay needed a makeover - and he got it. I'm old enough to be his...um, babysitter, but...oh hell, I'll stop now. Vote Clay, vote Ruben, I don't care anymore, as long as I can rent Clay on occasion. Thank you and have a nice week.

Well I think its just the two best in the competion not America. And if the show reals suxs why in the fuck are you guys watching it. Or you guys just happen to guess these guys names. But then if you didnt watch how would you know its suxs.

I have to admit, I voted on both phone lines for 15 minutes straight as fast as I could and I succeeded in getting through 11 times to vote. Since they were only 2% apart, I bet the lines were just completely busy the whole three hours. They should just make it a tie!
