Thanks for posting that. Those guys crack me up.

The new law is so bad for the business. If the industry had stood up and cleaned up a lot more it might not be so harsh. Those who made it though don't care if the biz cleaned up or not. They just want to kill the av business as much as they can.

Welcome to the new JAV porn underground. Hell awaits all who enter, I think.

Both were pretty funny. Kinda like telling jokes at a funeral though. :pimp

I've wrote upon this here and there and the short is industry panic getting up to compliance with a potential gap in releases for many studios this fall, but even the government couldn't figure how it will be enforced (an issue brought up in closed door deliberations in spite of still voting on codifying the law). We're now even seeing those in the industry securing meetings with politicians to see about getting the law amended to potentially cover only new performers.

Most likely the long term will see no changes as delistings already are not very common. JAV does not target those not wanting to perform; conversely, when we're talking mainstream JAV which is what this law will mostly affect, those appearing--even the most innocent-looking actresses--absolutely know what they're getting into and fully consent to it.

What's ironic though is how this will have near zero effect with non-mainstream JAV (doujin JAV and uncensored JAV with the latter being the absolute winners here).

More rights for women is a good thing. We're going to be ok.

The law is overkill in that regard as those who passed it pretty much equated all 'performers' with young women ill-equipped to comprehend adult decisions and there already are a multitude of laws on the books regarding coercion, illegal contracts, etc. The law was created to solve a problem that does not exist while giving those who passed it easy political points ahead of an election. I do totally agree with your second sentence.

Eulogies that do not include at least one joke totally suck.

Assuming the new law is a win for Uncensored JAV is a complete absurdity. Models who shoot uncensored also shoot censored and work in other areas of the sex business. Studio friends I talk to are saying its become much more difficult to get girls to shoot recently. One can see it in the frequency and quality of new releases. Even DTI has had to dust off the shelves and pull contents out of the vault to supplement new content schedules.

There has been an on-going issue with the treatment of models for decades. In 2018, the av business, was directed to work within a framework to diminish the issues women are having. Down to a company, the av business fucked up completely. Not much changed in reality. The ethics organizations thought they were building a wall of protection, a moat, by lumping many into Doujin AV. Instead all they succeeded in doing is to put a noose around the industry's neck. Their necks.

They had 5 years to monetize. Now they have 1. Maybe. If they are lucky.

Really curious where things are going. We just accomplished our AI censoring tool and now all this...

And since we are talking about Japan let me know if you guys can recommend any good people for our Japanese operation:
- management team and product owners
- HR
- legal team
- experienced censoring editor
- video labeling (fix frames that didn’t get processed by AI) - doesn’t require any special knowledge
- video editor (Adobe Premier, Mistika)
- product support
