How much lower than the asking price can you get when buying a used car from a dealer? Are we talking 10% lower, 20%, more?

If I see a 16k Beemer that I want, will I look like an idiot for offering 13.5k?

No - I bought a 3000GT when I was traveling around the US 3 years ago - They guys in Memphis wanted 15.999 - I offered 12.500 and got it for 13.999 -- But remember to SHOW HIM THE MONEY - litterally. That way the salesman trust you to make a fast deal
