Chargeback?s on Checks?. What?s the deal?
OK, my chargeback ratio for ccbill on checks is outta control! Is you % on chargeback's high? I'm in a range that is not cool, and was wondering what everyone else was doing as far as chargeback's on checks are!
We jump between 10-20%...To me that seems really high! Opinons please! :helpme |

You are aware that there is ZERO security on online checks, right? If you know someone's bank account number, and the other info that can be found on any check, you can do an online chekc transaction. Of course chargebacks are high! I stopped accepting them ages ago, and overall revenue went up.

We use Starcheck (and other verification filters) which helps stop the type of fraud you have mentioned above. It works with approximately 50% of U.S. checking accounts. Starcheck gets nightly reports of the actual account #s and whether those accounts actually had a positive balance during the repoing time the night before. I believe WTS uses it as well. We are working on a new verifications sytem that will actually reserve the funds on realtime but it is a bit away at this point. Interested? Mitch |
