she has potential but if she does not look hot she wont move up anywhere in the the music industry in these days (she also needs to flirt)

sad but true

galleryseek 05-19-2003 12:52 PM

is she a jewel fan?? lol

pretty cool. but i think the 2nd time the verse comes in, it'd be badass with an additional insturment like some violins.

but anyhow, good singer if that is her!

oh, and pics??? :winkwink:

xenigo 05-19-2003 12:53 PM

Liquidkid,
It sounds pretty damn good.... has kind of a Fiona Apple type sound to it, with the piano, and being that it's kind of dark.

Hey, hit me up on ICQ... I'm from Rocklin.

phogirl69 05-19-2003 02:04 PM

She came up with the whole song in the studio in about 45 min and is her favorite of her songs. She wrote the lyrics.

The Truth Hurts 05-19-2003 02:18 PM

nice tune and singing, but the piano work doesn't always quite fit in too well... particularly in the "touch me..." kiss me..." parts..
the chorus on the vocals at 1:30-1:45 is awesome.

TheMob 05-19-2003 02:18 PM

does she sing like that when she cums?

I like the piano during the chorus...it is spicy...and that sharp note at the end of the measure really adds a detailed dark feel. At first listen it comes out of nowhere, but by the second chorus you are anticipating it, and it is magical! Yeah those harmonies at 1:30 are straight genius pop!

Who wrote the melody? I can write lyrics, but I can't write melodies at all, I always wondered how a song gets written, melodies + lyrics. Did she ever have professional vocal training?
I sorta want to be a singer, but I don't have the slightest clue where to start.

liquidkid 05-19-2003 03:08 PM

She came up with everything.. just started playin the piano and went with it.

As an opera major... I would say that the arrangement is a little to much on her low end.. she has more confidence in the higher notes... dropping that low is nice for effect especially in an emotional song, but it lingers there a little too long. transpose it up a few keys and you're jammin. Shes got a fine voice, just needs to tune it a little higher.

hibbidiji 05-19-2003 03:17 PM

ok on further review I might be SLIGHTLY wrong.. its also possible that in addition to a shaky lower range it was also mixed badly... that sounds like either a steinway 6 or a good yamaha, and the piano is kicking her ass a little.. mix it down and her up and you're closer to magic.

Jer 05-19-2003 03:22 PM

nice music! good luck to your girlfriend

apscripts 05-19-2003 03:29 PM

I agree with everything hibbidiji says :)

liquidkid 05-19-2003 05:42 PM

the piano was actually played on a kurzweil k2500xs

Gutterboy 05-19-2003 05:45 PM

Piano is out of balance on that track, way too loud. How much vocal training has she had?

Recently took 2 sessions at a local vocal coach.... other than that, none.

She has a tendency to go flat whenever she has to sustain a note, and she doesn't sound as confident as she could be pitchwise when she hits some of her notes.. you can almost hear the "am I really doing this right" thoughts in her voice a few times.

A good vocal coach could help alot with those things. She's definitely got some good raw material to work with.

I spent alot of my childhood listening to singers.. unwillingly in the beginning. My dad was a classical conductor and pianist, and he used to coach opera singers for the Nottingham School of Music 4 nights a week in our house.

chodadog 05-19-2003 08:22 PM

5 years down the line, when she's famous, i'm selling the story of how her music career was launched on a pornography forum.

Lensman 05-19-2003 08:40 PM

Wow, I didn't know she wuz that good. I've got some songs I've written that I would like her to take a stab at.

They're a little more primal, but catchy!
