Do you know how to play Euchre?
 

Euchre is a card game involving 4 players (2 teams of 2) or 6 players (2 teams of 3). The object of the game is to get as many points as possible by making "tricks".

It's pretty big in the mid-west, and I've seen quite a few people from Alberta in the game rooms, but outside of those regions, nobody knows what Euchre is. So I'm bored as fuck in San Diego without my Euchre (nobody knows how to play!), so I play on Yahoo! Games every now and then.

Anybody who know how to play up for a game or two later today? I'm always looking for new people to play with, might be kind of fun.

Don't know how to play it, I'm more of a canasta person myself, but if you're willing to teach, I'm willing to learn.

I kick ass at Euchre. In fact, I am quite the card player all around.... never played online though. Is it fun?????

I should be embarrassed. I was in the Navy, for fuck's sake. Lots of folks in the Navy like to play Euchre, but Spades was more prevalent where I was stationed (32nd St, as a matter o fact.)

My grandmother (who raised me) taught me to play canasta, and no matter HOW fuckin many fives had been played, she always had another pair stashed someplace.

Daddy M (Grandpa Maynard, dear friend of the family) taught me to play pinocle. Isn't Euchre a relation of pinocle?

Its a law in Wisc,that you learn to play EUCHRE before you're 12..then...you graduate to SHEEPSHEAD.. ;)

You're from Madison, so you might know of Dubuque, Iowa (my hometown), they have the same law. And you can bet your ass I was playing Euchre long before then. :winkwink:

There was a pretty good shareware verion of it. If you were agrressive you got the edge but I tend to think that is true of the real game too.

I do get down to Dubuque from time to time..they used to have the riverboat casino..fun times :)
Card playing must be a rite of passage in the midwest..my father had taught me early on..they needed a 4th...

I hear ya! My grandpa tought me Cribbage.... I can still kick the shit out of anyone in that game:)
All we can do here in Ohio is play cards... or kill our spouses (which I may do later )

It's kinda like spades, but u get dealt 5 cars and call the trump suit and the jacks are high card.
