Adult film star Ron Jeremy detained, released

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Porn star Ron Jeremy was released
Saturday after being arrested at a Washtenaw County strip club.

Jeremy, 50, whose real name is Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, was arrested
just after 3 a.m. Friday when a 20-year-old Ann Arbor woman told
police the actor/director assaulted her at the club, Ypsilanti Police
Sgt. John Minzey said.

But Washtenaw County prosecutors announced Saturday they
would not seek charges because "there was insufficient evidence
that the sexual acts were nonconsensual," said Minzey.

Jeremy was released at about 11 a.m after having spent more than
24 hours in jail.

By 2001, Jeremy had starred in more than 1,600 pornographic
movies and had directed more than 100 himself.
