PlayboyAffiliates - account terminating due to non-activity?

Whaaat?

I was waiting to hit the minimum payout of $500 to receive my payment, and the day after I got 2 sales, I received an email from playboyaffiliates.com saying that due to non-activity, they are terminating my account effective 10/19/2021!?

Does anyone have any contact from Playboy?

Thank you guys.

Sorry to hear that. How long had you been their affiliate?

You can try sending an email to [email protected], Skype with hollyruprecht or sending a PM to Holly Lez!.

Hexor 10-20-2021 02:10 AM

I received the same email. I'm still active and sending traffic to their pages. Saying inactivity is the reason sounds lame. I will contact Holly about it.

kuprum 10-20-2021 03:15 AM

the same shit

daviking 10-20-2021 03:47 AM

got the same. they must have sent that email by mistake.

Tjeezers 10-20-2021 06:10 AM

Same here, but I never put up their links

JustBiz 10-20-2021 07:37 AM

Must be an error. I got mail saying account disabled. But just checked ... I can login, and traffic/sales are tracking as normal.

BTW, no mention of inactivity or anything else like the OP. Mail just says:

The program administrator disabled your account
Please contact the program administrator if you have any questions.

Thank You,

PlayboyAffiliates.com

Seems like someone pushed the wrong button

drexl 10-20-2021 08:05 AM

if it was a mistake they should send a follow up email.

sarettah 10-20-2021 08:15 AM

I got the canceled for inactivity email. It seemed proper as I have never sent them any traffic, lol. I had forgotten I had even signed up.

.

Klen 10-20-2021 09:07 AM

I got same but 3 repeating e-mails lol

Denny 10-20-2021 10:15 AM

Same here, I almost forgot I have an account there, I just hit the delete button.

SBJ 10-20-2021 10:18 AM

TaiGhost 10-20-2021 10:40 AM

Add your pronouns when you contact. Very important.

CurrentlySober 10-20-2021 10:41 AM

Put in a complaint :2 cents:

I've got the email, but surely it must be an error, I hope so as they are a very useful sponsor.

fuzebox 10-20-2021 10:58 AM

You guys only got one email? :1orglaugh

adultchatpay 10-20-2021 06:53 PM

got the same email

geirlur 10-21-2021 04:03 AM

Didn't you guys check the username mentioned in the mails?

The 2 mails I got was concering usernames I had never used; "username1" and "username0". So those were probably just some automatically created accounts from when they switched platforms or whatever..

so I wouldnt worry :)))

I spoke with the folks at Playboy yesterday and Holly told me to go ahead and post this for everyone here.

They went ahead and disabled (not deleted) any account that did not receive any hits, joins, or rebills in the last year. If you feel like this was done in error you can reach out to them to have your account re-enabled by emailing [email protected].

To be clear, no ones account has been deleted. Your stats are still archived and if you still think you were owed a payment they can easily reactivate your account.

newB 10-22-2021 02:32 PM

I got it too, but I didn't even know I had an account with them. Perhaps my account was created when that AdultCashPrograms program got dissolved. Or, maybe I joined after that and was so unimpressed by what I saw that I have zero recollection of it.

Anyhoo, perhaps many of us here might have promoted them a bit more had they deemed to send out the occasional email before now.

Have luck.

What they should have done is... Reach out their affiliates who didn't have any sales or hits last year and see if they can get then interested in sending traffic again.

What Rochard said.

Does not sound like they are managing their internet arm well at all.

I got the mystery mail, the one that didn't mention inactivity. Considering that I sent traffic in the last 90 days but haven't had sales in a long time, I suppose that makes sense. I immediately wrote back to ask why with a CC to Holly (who used to try hard for me in her LFP days although she never could get the broken tours fixed) but of course nobody answered.

I want to point out that this sort of mass closures is not honest business. Sure they have your stats archived "if you think you were owed a payment" but who has any idea where they have sub-payout balances? The way you check that is you LOG IN AND LOOK. So they just effectively stole all those balances. It's dirty.

Edited to add: I think I was converted into this program from the PlayboyCash days pre-2007. No inactivity for one year? Who the fuck cares? It's not like my entry in the database is costing them anything. I sometimes make sales off of links that date to fuckin' 2002. No, it's a way to close out and keep all those small affiliate balances. Dirty.

I think Holly is the custodian of soon to be dead aff programs. I understand companies are moving to internal efforts as SE are not affiliate friendly unless it is their program.

That may be so, but I look upon it the way I did when every news website in the USA "pivoted to video" because Facebook spent a year feeding them fake video metrics. A lot of those sites never recovered.

Search engine strategies come and go. Hell, search engines come and go -- remember AltaVista? The trickle of traffic through affiliate links from affiliates who build and maintain links over decadal spans of time might as well be organic traffic, except for the revshare cost of it. It strikes me as pretty dumb to dump that traffic -- for now and for many more years to come -- in pursuit of an SEO strategy that's going to be obsolete and abandoned in 18 months.

Alex21 10-26-2021 03:12 AM

Same. Landed in the spam folder so by chance I saw it.

Good question.. who routinely checks their spam folders? :pimp

I'm in the use all strategies and keep developing them as time goes by camp. Its nearly impossible to detect changes in different business models.

So, I wonder if they (PBoy) are trying to reach out to new affiliates who are closer in spirit to their new "direction(s). The customer comments about recent covers have been scathing.
