Evanescence kinda Rocks!
 

Got a CD from my friend from Evanescence listened to it while
I was driving 300 miles back to where I live...

At first I really liked it, it's catchy and I liked the girl's voice which
matches really nice with the "heavy" guitars. It reminded me of
a Dutch band called "The Gathering" and German band Guano Apes.

After listening to it a couple of times I came to the conclusion that
the production is too slick. Too symphonic, too many overdubs and
a bit too flat. I wonder how they will ever keep this up when playing live. I don't mind the drum machines mixed with a real
drummer.

Nevertheless I still like most of the tracks on the album any other
opinions....should I be ashamed, anyone who already seen them
live? My friend is going to check them out at a Spanish Festival
soon.

Oh they did the soundtrack for the Movie Daredevil....for the
peeps to whom the name doesn't ring a bell.

Kinda? dood.. for fetesh music they tottaly rock I love her voice.... funny thing is they all meet at a church camp.. LOL cant tell by the music...

Actually that doesn't suprise me, they use quite some choir stuff
and a lot of synths and organs allthough their band line up
doesn't mention a keys man. So I assume when playing live this
comes from a sequencer or they use a couple of session musicians.

I've heard the one song, I like it.

Bring me to life is pretty good.

Check out Going Under and Haunted....quite sure you'll like those
aswell. :glugglug

I've only heard the single "Bring Me To Life"...and I really like it. You inspired me to check out the rest of the album.

So far I haven't heard another hard song like the single... :(

The two singers thing in the single was cool...kind of like 311 with the 2 guys who both sing.

I'll have to burn the whole cd and listen to it loud in my car....the only way to really appreciate music. I didn't like the Linkin Park "Meteora" cd much till I blasted it from beg to end in my car.

70% of the songs on the album are "hard" if you would like to call
it that way....it also contains 2 lame ballads which could have
been left out. Haunted has got a few nice parts where the guitars
and drummer plays fast stacato triplets (double bass drum) it's
indeed a very nice album while cruising the motorway.

i dig some of their songs, but that live performance didnt sound as good
