Fun fact - if you take a PSD and zip it, and you take the same PSD and make a blank white layer on top and THEN zip it, the blank white layer one will be substantially smaller.

Yeah, because previews take more space than they should. Making a solid color layer does make it smaller, but then you won't have good previews in things like Finder :upsidedow

But you know, my style is, i would just ask them "which file did you edit" and throw out the rest of the junk and keep the ones he/they edited. and upload that specific file with my source file so this way, to avoid any hidden hacks, etc..

Laravel projects can get pretty huge.

Lots of possible reasons for this with a laravel project...

he cleaned out the NPM Modules folder before zipping..
he cleaned out the /public or storage folders before zipping..
he removed files that would be auto generated upon serving...
he optimized some code..

Use GIT .. not zips.

Then you can see exactly what has changed, always.

You should look into laravel again... it's incredibly powerful and I'm not sure you know what you're looking at. Wordpress and Laravel are not even the same thing, Apples and Oranges. :2 cents:
