Jeep owners?
Who here drives a Jeep Wrangler?
I'm thinking about buying one to drive around town. I want one I can take the doors off of and have just a soft top, no sides. I already have a H2 but I see guys driving these jeeps around town and they look pretty cool. Anybody have one? how do they drive around town? i heard they suck on the hiway, is this true? |
get a saraha model... I am in the Land Cruiser club... and the wrangler really suprised me.. when off roading... stock.....

The new wranglers definately are nicer for crusing than the older ones from even late 90's.
I have a liberty limited edition today, its nice, but a wrangler is a wrangler. Check out the sport model if you want more of a crusing friendly suspension. The Rubicon if you want the baddest rock crawler of em all. |
grande cherokee here

A Wrangler isn't the greatest for long road trips but around town, no problem. A little bumpy but it's supposed to be. Test drive one, you'll love it. They are very fun to drive.

I drove one for a week while on vacation at Las Brisas, in Acapulco. It was fun as hell.

damn right! nothing beats doing in a CJ! i've a 1986 CJ7! |
...as long as you put a 350 sbc in that cj. lol j/k!
never driven a cj, but i have the wrangler. it actually was pretty cool, but i didn't get to take it off road. what really amazed me was the turning radius. that fucker could practically turn around inside itself. wasn't impressed with the motor though, it was a lame-ass 4cyl/5spd. i think it was a 00-01. yeah, get a cj5. i hear the 7's are a little long for tight trails :) |

i have an 03 wrangler rubicon, i love to drive it. however look in to the legalities of having no doors on it in your area. you migh thave to get a set of half-door's. and make sure you have some pleace to store the tops.
other then that, they are awesome rides. |
Unreal pick-up/take-off. They've got no body weight and a 4.0 engine.
Drawbacks - 1. They're so fucking greedy on the gas. 2. They get full of rattles and noises after awhile. 3. The handle like a wet sponge in the highway. Also quite prone to roll when cornering at speed. |
well, i went to israel 5 years ago to buy the Sufa which is the Israeli version of the Wrangler. it's amazing. basically its the same as the american version only specially treated for deserts and extreme terrains. easily serviced by every wrangler shop in the world.

I used to manage the service department for a Jeep dealership. They are great if you live in a nice climate area, but you really should opt for the 4.0 liter 6 cylender. The four bangers are very short on power. Also, for ultimate fun put a 2" lift and offroad tires, remove the doors, and you'll have a great time. As long as it doesn't rain.
