Definately not the first time a tornado hit CZ. Very close to Poland and we get them from time to time. They are rare, but not unheard of.

I also thought tornadoes are rare in Europe. But this one is a major tornado.

Yep, not the first time tornado hitting, but this seems to be strongest one so far. I thought shit like that happens in USA only. Yesterday i wanted to go to brno, but i had feeling how it will be bad weather and it seems i was right.

What is says that from the year 1119 to the year 2017 in TOTAL there were 108 documented tornadoes. Rare, but it happnes. Worse was in 2004 in the town of Litovel.

Close to Brno. Isn't that the area where Paul Markham lives?

Pretty bad, I live in Brno which is 60-70 km from there.

Brno is north moravia while this happened in south moravia. Close, but not effected.

Brno is in the South Moravian Region.

In Holland there are also small Tornados, call them whirlwinds cause they are small. I was once at sea/big lake sailing when we saw 3 passing in a big storm. One close and the waves went from 2 meter to 0 because of the big heavy rains. Very interesting. Luckily no direct hit, went few hundred meter past us.

2nd tornado recorded in modern history, the first was harmless and happened on some open field and didn't do anything.

This one yesterday flattened several villages, 5 dead, 200 injured minimum. Millions of damages.

About 60 km from Brno (where I live).

Here in Brno we just had a thunder storm and heavy rain, nothing dangerous.

Local support is awesome, police and fire department function perfectly, millions of Czech crowns have been donated already, restaurants and supermarkets supply food, hotels and pensions supply rooms, support in general cannot be better. Czech people rock.

PS: Brno is in Southern Moravia. Easy to see on any of those thingies they call "map".

We're supposed to be all under water in 12 yrs so don't worry.
