iPad Alternative
 

I saw an ad for an iPad alternative, VANKYO MatrixPad Z10: 10" 3GB+32GB Tablet. It was $139 but I saw it cheaper on Amazon and other places. The difference between this and the iPad is this uses the Android system. I’m clueless about Android and I figured that y’all would know about this and if this is a good deal

The longevity matters to me. The iPad lasts about a year or less.

I don't know about the VANKYO MatrixPad Z10 but I've had a Vankyo projector for 2 years and it's great.

But looking how 10% of the reviews for the VANKYO MatrixPad Z10 are 1 star.. I'd say you get what you pay for

The more research that I do, the more I agree with that. Sounds like a great deal but it isn’t. With the trade-in, the iPad is under $100/yearly. Android scares me!

why does android scare you? My 1st tablet was the 1st gen iPad in 2010 and used it for 4 years. in 2014 I bought a Samsung tablet and used it for 6 years til I bought the tablet I posted above. Android is so much easier to use and doesn't force you to use apple products like iTunes. I do have an 8" amazon fire hd I use for my music.

I was thinking of an iPad over an iPhone... I like that they have a stylo pen for drawing. I have an XPEN drawing tablet but I am leashed to the computer. I would like to be portable. The newer ones have the truDepth cameras which work, but for the full body mocap gear, I can use the iPhone with it and get full animation at once...

I cannot do that with the iPad.

I think you really only have 3 choices with tablets... the Apple OS, Android OS, or Windows OS with their surface.

Choose your devil basically.

If it's price that is most important.... find one that does what you want for the price you are willing to pay. Read ALL the reviews, look at photos then roll the dice.

Just make sure you know the return policy in case it is not what you thought it would be and need to return it.
