Trading during a bull market is easy as pretty much everything goes up eventually. Trying to predict the prices during a bear market... now that's the real challenge.

So true! All the current altcoin genius will be wiped away in a brutal bear market. Luckily for them, imo, the next bear will be much milder than the last.

Well, if I did I would not admit it publicly, cause in some countries trading income is taxed, why just having and holding not. But it depends. But what I currently do is going deeper the rabbit hole, mastering solidity lang, hanging out with crypto devs, etc. lots of to be explored. Cryptos are so much more than just store of value. It's web 3.0 in the making. But gfy is probably not the best place for me to talk about that, I've been laughed at already here by people who did not even understood what I said nor took time to understand. Nonetheless I wish everyone all the best, and ultimately nothing is certain.

Buy and hodl only. The tax ramifications of trading and selling at the Neo level is devastating to your wallet. At least, for those of us in the USA. Being taxed at short term gains can wipe out profits in a NY minutes. As it stands, my hodlings will be taxed at the lowest capital gains tax when I cash out. And I will be looked at very fucking closely by the IRS when that happens. We already have to declare crypto on our tax returns. So it begins.

For us US taxpayers, Coinbase is a good buy/sell/trade platform, and CoinTracker for reports and tax prep. They have a "free" plan as well as a $15/month plan. I am still at the free level, but the moon is in sight.

I want to get involved in crypto but I still don't understand the basics and I am very skeptical to invest in them.

Read the Bitcoin whitepaper & if you want to get more in depth read thread/posts and context of user "satoshi" on bitcointalk.org

Get CashApp and setup Bitcoin daily/weekly/monthly autobuys at any amount that you're comfortable with. (Eventually all the BTC you buy you'd want to withdraw to self custody bitcoin wallets.

Do not trust anyone who tries to tell you XYZ coin is more secure, decentralized or important than Bitcoin.

I think it's ok for people to start small, trust that gov & central banks will devalue all the worlds fiat currencies, and don't expect to get rich quick. :2 cents:

Also, ask questions here if you have anything specific :)

Not really trading, I am holding. I got $400 in Ethereum and $400 in Algorand.
Well now I have over $500 in each.

Do you have an accumulation strategy or just holding what you have forever?

sandman! 04-15-2021 02:30 PM

I recently traded half my btc for bnb will see in a few weeks what is doing better

No accumulation strategy. Just holding and watching. So many cryptos out there, each with it's own advantages and disadvantages.

If something comes along that really looks good. May throw a couple of grand at it.

Check my sig, I maintain a Crypto info site. There is plenty of information for you to cull through.

You can also find the Bitcoin white paper in the blog section.
