Now with Paypal gone, what to do?

Our video sales (a smaller portion of our business) was with paypal. So now what... go with netbilling, probilling or something like that to start our own merchant account for selling vids?

Also it would become an alternate for those who cannot sign up with ccbill.

What to do? Help from the wise please :)

What about that stormbilling or whatever? Can't remember what it's called exactly, but have seen people saying it's an alternative to Paypal..

EscortBiz 05-15-2003 08:55 PM

your selling videos as in mailing them or access to watch thm online?

CCBill only processes for digital goods.

stormpay

Kimmykim 05-15-2003 08:55 PM

Um, epassporte.com ;)

Tell lagwagon I'll be back in town Saturday night if you guys want to talk about it at Dos on Sunday maybe? ;-}}}

FTVGirls 05-15-2003 08:59 PM

Hi Kimmy, lagwagon is on that seattle trip, he will be back on Monday. I can tell him to contact you.

My gripe with epassport was when I tried to pay something through it, it was quite frustrating to set up an account (the deposit made to the account, then confirming it withing 48 hrs, which has to be so well timed since any transactions do not reflect on my online statement for as much as 3 days.) Paypal had no significant time limit on this.

So my concern was, if it is this problematic for me, how about customers who want to buy the tapes?

Yes, we are primarily a paysite, and ccbill handles that.... but members like to buy our videos as well (and we plan to sell toys, shoes, panties that girls wear etc..) so anyways need a merchant account in theory to take care of this portion.

I know what you mean -- that issue has been discussed and I think rectified today as a matter of fact when we met in LA this morning -- tell Chris to hit me up when he's back -- :)))

whats up arizona? first of all i want cascading billing. i want to make the best of our webmasters traffic. something that i am trying to implement asap. if they are getting bad conversions with X processor then they will get credit with another as will we. kimmy i do need to get the epassporte thing going. but, if we can have netbilling or another company process vid sales and then also use them in the cascading billing i dont see a reason for epassporte other than giving me a good medium for sending money to people like pay pal. will epassporte take less of each transaction on the vid sales? this is something that we will have to discuss.

The best by far is Ibill, if you don't want a merchant account.

I know everybody likes to trash them, but I have used them for a year for dvds and tapes. Never a missed check or problem, good support, free shopping cart, no Visa fee.

When you signup you have to nag them to let you sell internationally, the default is U.S. only. They approved me internationally for the 2 sites I run selling dvds.

Don't have a single complaint about them at all.

Fees:
=-=-=-=-=-=-=
What are your fees to send money?
The fee to send money is free. There is a 2.9$ plus $0.39 cents to receive money. So for example if you send someone $5.00, you will not be charged anything, the person receiving the cash would get $4.56 ($0.39 plus $0.15).

Fix that to 2.9%, not 2.9$ on your FAQ please.

try "MPA2"

lagwagon 05-15-2003 10:19 PM

please, that is just a typo.

ePassporte is way more cost effective than IBill or any other IPSP solution that will let you sell goods on their account. It is more expensive than Paypal was, but then again, we actually have fraud control, the lack thereof is what is causing them to exit the adult marketplace entirely, since they have decided their efforts can be more rewarding in other arenas like currency conversion and the like.

As far as cascading billing goes Chris, I really am not sure how you would set that up to sell a physical product -- I would figure it would work like a subscription model but you would need your own software to do it, since we're in the billing business, not the stats business, primarily, especially if the stats concern someone besides us in the billing process... we would simply have no way of knowing or integrating other people's stats in an effective manner.

It may be of more benefit to you to get your own merchant account thru Netbilling or the like... I'm not sure what sort of reserve the banks are charging or what kind of points they want per transaction... I also have a feeling they would consider adult dvd on the high risk category, but that is something you would need to discuss with Mitch or someone like that -- I have no idea what kind of minimum volume they would require per month either --

Kimmy what's your icq?
i have some questions regarding ePassporte

4Pics 05-16-2003 01:26 AM

Anyone wanting to sell goods should get a merchant account and stop fucking around with high %'s. Unless you are unable to get one then maybe you have an excuse.

With netbilling you would not need to Cascade.

You get to set exactly why the cards aren't accepted, such as zipcode and address must match or just 1 must match, if they enter a cvv2 etc. You have complete control over the whole process.

yeah i have heard that.

Stormpay is great. Customers can even fund their account quickly using 900 billing which a lot of people like vs. pulling out credit card info.

You can also get a GlobalPay ATM card, which is processed via Virtual Money, Inc. and a corresponding FDIC insured bank account at First National Bank of Central Texas if you need to do bank wires for anything.

See sig for more details and signup info.

DyannaDoes 05-16-2003 03:04 AM

Yes, I would really want to process an adult transaction in Texas.

Wow.

Wow.

You're not. The affiliated ATM card is processed through http://www.virtualmoneyinc.com and https://www.virtual-atm.com/ . The card itself is issued by FNB.

Loch 05-16-2003 04:04 AM

We have gone with Epassporte, just testing it now and seems to work really well.
Our programmer then fucked up right away and got the account locked for 24 hrs (to many faulty logins)...
I Called Tony and problem was solved in less then 2 mins, so their service ROCKS as well.

We are then going to setup with Paycom as well for processing visa and mastercard...
