*Living Wake*
 

A good friend of mine died suddenly last week, it came down to me to let another friend who was in hospital dying of cancer to know about it - he decided to check out of the hospital (under supervised medication) and have a 'living wake' at the pub, we all went along to say goodbye and basically told the stories we would have told when he was dead, but he got to hear our fondest memories of him and he got to respond to them and join in, it was the most bittersweet few days I've ever had, he's back in hospital and ready to die now - I hope I get the chance to do the same thing when my time is up.
