For some reason yes it does.

Could be a poor imitation of a bad photoshop photo. In today's world, it can be anything you want.

Looks like it was taken with a long lens and then jpg compressed quite a bit.

maybe just a phone like a samsung s1. not a new one, something where the compression is high the lens is picking up lots of interference


where is this? why should it be fake? It´s just a ship going into a dock or waiting at sea, nothing too special?

The water wake looks weird

In my opinion it may not be, but the lack of even subtle light reflection on the water from the well lit side of the boat looks a bit unnatural.

Some light/color corrections may be done, but details seems normal to me. Think it is not photoshopped.

OK, so here's why I poosted.

It ISN'T photoshopped (in the traditional sense) but it LOOKS photoshopped to me. I wanted to find out the reason why...

During the pandemic, the Queen Mary the 2nd, P&Os Ventura and Aurora Cruise ships and a few others have been anchored offshore of my little town while they are out of service.

When I first saw the pic, I thought the 'uncanny valley' effect (that lead me to think that it 'looked' photoshopped, was simply the juxtaposition of my little seaside town, and a ship more likely to be found off of Monaco...

However, knowing that the ship IS there, meant it cant be that...

From this thread, I have come to the conclusion that the reason it looks weird to me (Knowing approximately where abouts the photo was taken) Must be that it was indeed a telephoto lense, giving a sense of distortion to the pic....

So thanks to all who replied. It kinda makes more sense now why it looks weird.

It looks photoshopped because there is no wake around the boat and it doesn't appear to be anchored either.
