UK Back into National Lockdown

All kids to learn from home - again!

Full lockdown in CZ is from 15.10, with only small 2 weeks break, so cry me a river.

redwhiteandblue 01-04-2021 01:29 PM

What happened in CZ? You seemed to have it under control and then....?

No clue, i cant find reasonable explanation why it growing so fast. It was on stable 5000 a day during second lockdown, then lifted for two weeks, then restored, and now new record , 18000 in a day.

Wow! Scary stuff. It's not coming from UK people visiting right? We have this new strain in America too now affecting people who did NOT travel anywhere. So maybe this is just a new 'natural' mutation.

No clue, but you would not have a problem with it, as your most important thing - hookers - are still working :1orglaugh

Found out today there is a stronger 3rd strain from South Africa.

Just waiting for the Belgian VanDamme Strain or the ChuckNorris roundhouse strain.

backlash from the holidays .... happened after thanksgiving here in the states as well as now due the holidays. out of the 18,000 probably only .02% are symptomatic. not so bad unless you're one of the .02%

Here in Greece, lockdown will be till 11/1 and then they will see it if continues, I think no because now we have about 500 per day. They wait to see the results from NYE maybe... but I saw on the news that we are ready to open schools again.

NatalieK 01-05-2021 01:33 AM

I hear UK is in tier 5 from Wednesday, military are to be involved with those who donīt cooperate.

While also in lockdown, this also means, Brits are restricted to staying in the UK, therefore, all self control has been eliminated and basic freedom and human rights have been reduced giving the government full control of the country, who and what is technically moving around.

This mutated strain has been found in other countries, how far will it go, the vaccine may not work, is this the end of life as we knew it, will we always have to continue with a distancing and coverings like masks to be worn from now and onwards?

The UK has also banned alcohol in takeaways and deliveries :2 cents: !

That's pretty much exactly how I would sit, if I wanted to take a shit in a car in public.:2 cents:

Legs nice and wide, one foot raised up for leverage and one foot on the ground so you could really push hard. Plus, nice light colored clothing which would visually display the poo soaked crotch, so as those who were unlucky enough to be so far away as to be unable to smell it, could still enjoy the spectacle.

Perhaps he WAS taking a crafty shit?

Yes, it's ridiculous. It's almost 1 year already, just open back up. I've lived in China and I have many friends in multiple cities still there. It's been back to normal for at least 6 months already, they barely had a lockdown.

It is because they made a proper lockdown when it all started compared to "bugged" lockdowns done by rest of the world.

The Porn Nerd 01-05-2021 12:54 PM

In America (and probably Europe) everyone is trying to have it both ways. Stay safe while acting like everything is normal so business and profits can continue. When the truth is if EVERYONE just SHUT DOWN for 4-6 weeks, no leaving their homes and Gov't paid workers/businesses during this period, 95% of this insanity would be over.

But nope. Carry on like mindless children hamsters running endlessly to keep the pennies coming in. Sick (pun intended).

Scott McD 01-05-2021 01:02 PM

Well this was meant to be day 1 of the "lockdown similar to that of last March". Yet the roads etc were looking busy as ever.

People have had enough. And truth be told most have been told they can work so hence the traffic on the roads.

But yeah, this is nothing like the lockdown of March. So far.

People have simply had enough and don't think another month or two stuck at home will get us out this.

You start to wonder if the vaccine news has simply made everyone think "well we'll be vaccinated soon enough so.....all good."

Hmmmmm......

So did Poland - we had fuck all cases until schools reopened in September. China is just lieing about the numbers, stopped pushing it in the media and opened up everything :2 cents: Or who knows, maybe they created the virus and antidote, and released it into their water supply after it spread around the world or something :1orglaugh

Back in March everything was shut. Take aways, coffee shops, McDonalds now everthing is open as normal. It's just like tier 3 or 4 or 5. I have lost count now.

Yes, of course China was and still is lying. Covid is reportedly more infectious than the flu. So if you can eliminate covid then you can also eliminate flu. Waste of time, you can't do either. The first lockdown was meant to be for 2 weeks just to slow the spread...

I was also in China, Chengdu to be exact, end of January, early February. People still need to go out and eat. Some restaurants were open and this is Chinese food where everyone shares dishes in the middle using chopsticks.

No, its not true.

True is that its safer to say that its impossible to stop this shit without destroying normal life (which I dont think its your goal?).
So the sooner people will get used to this shit, and get back to normal, the better.
Leave it to the individuals how they want to cope with this shit and protect themselves.

Lockdown like this did Sri Lanka for example. They also had airport closed for 10 months (soon going to be open)

So what? With airport closed, and strict lockdown for 10 weeks march-may, they "suddenly" had "outbreak" in October, that is going until now...

Yet, at least they are wise enough to not even think about insanity like UK, or AUS do.

It's insane, almost like a virus will spread while there are people mixing in infrastructure, supply chains, and crazy shit like that, in a season that might just maybe possibly be a known perfect time for respiratory viruses to circulate. Good job it was suppressed and pushed forward all summer, and a bunch of people lost their livelihoods, businesses, sanity, and faith in the medical community.

Fucking amazing job by the flailing 'do something, anything' politicians catering to the screaming virtue signalling 1-death-is-too-many crowd. Senses of proportion are so 5,000 BC - 2019.

Unless you shut literally everything, how does that work? How do you get food picked/prepared/delivered/stocked in stores that need staff from security to cleaners to shelf stackers to checkout operators to trolley collectors, and the people who need to go and dig the electricity up and pipe it around, or the drivers who need vehicles serviced, fuelled, and the infrastructure around fuel itself? And the phone companies? water companies? ISPs/internet infrastructure?

And that's just a tiny, tiny, tiny piece of the ecosystem.

It isn't the small percentage of people who yes, do ignore ALL rules, anymore than there is carnage on the roads because a minority are drunk, or drugged, or women (j/k!!), or
ignore speed limits. It's because there are millions here, and tens of millions in the US, who are mixing because infrastructure and supply chains are vital... look at new orleans I think it was a few years back? That was 4 days without infrastructure iirc, though I may be well off on that. 4 -6 weeks of that? Hmmm.

Blaming the tiny % who don't stick to social distancing is laughable.

but is it like the UK, wearing them when nearer people or in buildings, because this doesnīt work...

for us in Spain, we have to wear them at all times, all times when outside our homes, our levels are nearly zero here on the orihuela coast, again :2 cents:

Hospitals in danger of being overwhelmed they say. Well what the fuck were they doing all summer then, when they should have been preparing? Sitting on their arses not treating anyone?

I think the issue is the false sense of security it gives, and people thinking it's ok to invade your personal space because 'masks'. As for wearing them outside in the open air if not in crowded areas (eg a concert, football match, etc) - just fucking LOL. They have their benefits in certain situations for absolute sure, but have become a talisman and likely do more harm (with people thinking it's some kind of 100% protection, and ignoring more substantive measures) as is.

Any smoker here has done the let out a puff of smoke just normally, with mask in place... not only does it come out the sides, therefore not directed downwards where your nostrils naturally aim (evolutionary feature?), there's hardly any difference whatsover in the smoke expelled. Now do that for something thousands and thousands of times smaller than smoke particles.

I'm not anti-mask per se, just rebuff the idea they are the magic bullet force field most think they are, whereby they still crowd into other people's personal space, whereas probably a better tactic would be to stay the fuck out of people's personal space in the first instance.
