Legal question - posting pics
 

Does anyone know the legality of posting "funny" pictures on a web site? I run a joke site and every other joke site seems to have pictures, videos of the same pics. What's the legality behind posting such pics? Is it legal? illegal? Does adding your sites url on the picture violate anything?

It does not matter if the picture is part of a joke or not the same rules apply.

Get the photographers permission.

Im not sure about mainstream stuff, but id imagine you need to buy content that comes with publishing license just like in the adult biz. Not so much for age verification, but for copyright issues.


Not sure about this one, ive never looked into it ... id imagine you would need direct (written) consent from content provider to alter the image.

I might be wrong, but i definately wouldnt make a move without asking them.
