Saltwater tank peoples...

So I notice that on top one of my anemones yesterday, there's this growth deal. I'm a new tank owner so I figure, maybe it's normal. I come back later in the day and the growth had seperated from the anemone. Upon closer examination I notice that the growth has like 2 - 3 tiny purple tipped tentacles.

Did it spawn???

:helpme

It certainly could have...in my tanks when strange things happen like that, I research and watch closely...

What type of anenome is it? Hows is your water clarity? How long has the anenome been established? Is it eating and thriving? Is the light source good enough for it?

Sometimes anenome's can expel their stomach's if something doesn't agree with them. But from my experience its a goopy cottage cheese looking stuff...it floats and breaks up in current.

I'm not sure on the type, water clarity is great. Vital stats at last reading were: pH = 8.4, SG 1.024, NO2 = 0, NO3 = <20 . The anemone has been in my tank for ~1 month and it seems to be eating and thriving. Not sure _how_ to tell if it's eating though. Tentacles move around tons and it expands and contracts over the course of the day...

I wasn't cottage cheese looking. It was solid looking(?). Kinda cool really. The anemone had "flared up" on it's side where the current is strongest. Kinda like it was cupping it in...

Thanks for the help Hoax. :)
