recovering a hard drive

i have a computer thats really fucked up. When i load it, it comes up with a errors, windows will not load. It has errors that are unfixable. I was curious if they make a piece of hardware where I can attach to the computer to transfer the contents of my hard drive to another computer. The DOS still works on the computer. There is no disk drive, just a cd rom, but it wont load so I cant access it. Any suggestions?

Zip Drives work under DOS.

1 - take the harddrive out
2 - set the jumper to "slave"
3 - open up another computer
4 - plug it in on the same cable as the other harddrive
5 - boot the pc
6 - copy all the data

after you do that, delete XP and re-install Win98

Great.

Let me know when your parents figure out what a computer is.

... there is a 3.11 theme available at www.wincustomize.com ... so you can be running winXP thinking you are still on 3.11.
