France -- Absolutely Worthless

Does anything get done in France? If it weren't for their UN delegate working his ass off to disrupt American foreign policy, France would have exactly zero productivity.

'Black Tuesday' Strike Paralyzes France

Quote:

PARIS (Reuters) - Strikes against plans to overhaul state pensions crippled French air and rail traffic and closed schools on Tuesday as unions said more than a million workers staged the strongest street protest in years.

France's conservative government said it would not back down on reforms forcing workers to contribute more and retire later to avoid an impending funding crunch. But it sought to avoid further strikes by hinting at concessions for low-earners. Aviation officials said four in five flights were grounded while state railway company SNCF canceled two-thirds of its mainline services as workers left their jobs to join more than 100 "Black Tuesday" demonstrations across France. Kiosks were bare as newspaper distribution was paralyzed and the country suffered a 10 percent loss in electricity output as power workers joined protests. Three in four teachers took to the streets, resulting in school closures throughout France.

fuckin unions. ruining it for everyone. train drivers in france retire at 50, and now they want to retire even younger. Fuck union controlled economies that do stuff like the 35 hour work week.

You wanna work 25 hours, start your own company and do what you want.

The unemployment rate in France rose 0.1 point to 9. 2 percent in February as the number of jobless climbed for the fourth consecutive month, data released Friday by the social affairs ministry showed.

The French economy, under pressure from a global slowdown, has seen a wave of bankruptcies, restructurings and plant closures in recent months.

The jobless queue was likely to continue growing, the official statistics institute INSEE said Friday, forecasting an unemployment rate of 9.3 percent in June.

In February, the number of people registered as out of work rose by 19,000 or 0.8 percent to a total of 2,343,800, according to the social affairs ministry data.

The number of registered jobless had increased 0.7 percent in January, 0.8 percent in December and 0.6 percent in November.

The 4 largest public companies in the US: Walmart, Microsift, GE and GM together have a larger valuation then the entire Fench and German stock markets....

Just something to thing about....

hahahah what is THAT?? A quick and desperate Google search???

What you just showed is periodic fluctuations of a country's economy...
I could have gave you similar numbers for the US

as for unemployment rate of 9.3 percent in June...
That's not that bad if you compare with other "rich" countries...

No, there are no similar numbers for the US economy. 9% unemplyment? How many years will you go back to find that?

What quantifies "nice"? My grandmother is "nice" but her economic impact, and military prowness is terrible.

France does have a great history, too bad it peakes about 200 years ago...

And it has a fine tradition of losing wars, selling out allies, and being a general discrace.

I have said it many times - France should just sell out to Disney. Make it FranceLand... Disney would make the country run better, the service would be better, it would be cleaner, and unemployment would surely be down!!

:thumbsup

Oh and I have been to France.... as well as most countries in Europe... France is beautiful, and like most places has good and bad people.... but ecnomicly, politically, and on the world stage She is fading fast...

France should have to turn in their seat on the Security Council over to India....

Dont compare a nation to the US to determine if they are lazy...

If you compare France with the other rich nations, members of the G8 etc... There economy is looking fairly good!

well great architecture , lots of very imporatant artist , writers , poets , gastronomy (never heard about typical US gastronomy - maybe Big Mc) , great wine etc
BTW I think that Statue of liberty was originaly made in France (maybe I am wrong ) so one of the typical US freedom attributes is from France :1orglaugh

Their numbers look like horse shit from any angle. They are a socialist shithole. The people vote for socialists and Trotskyites! 4.25% of their population voted for a fucking Trotskyite!!!

Quote:

You know, a lot of people are misreading the supposedly substantial vote for Le Pen (the media proclaimed ultra extreme right wing fanatical extremist sitting on the right hand limit of the political belle curve beyond which one can move no further right as he is at the very edge) as a shift in European mindset away from the big government kleptocracy model. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In reality, Le Pen has garnished the same percentage as he was expected to. What happened, what jolted him into second place, was the splintering of the the radical votes (which are comprised of the vast majority of French voters, leftists that they are). See, the French weren't content to vote for a mere socialist, Jospin.

Nay, they split their votes between even more extreme Trotskyites.

"A lot of young people voted for Olivier Besancenot and now regret it," said Sciences-Po student Patrick, 19, referring to a 27-year-old Trotskyite postman who won 4.25 percent on Sunday.
Those are the people of France.

Well, when France surrendered without a fight in WWII, that put a shitload of resources in the hands of the Germans, in addition to not inflicting any casualties on the Germans and boosting German moral. They sold out all of humanity by being giant, gaping, sopping wet vaginas.

Yeah, its far better to work your ass off for <50k a year 50 hours a week for 40 years, retire at 65, and die of a heart attack at 66.. which is what happens to more Americans than not.

Most people aren't entrepreneur types and will end up working for other people most of their lives, so I don't blame them for trying to make it as easy as possible for themselves.

Without them, there would be No USA:

Quote:

The French extended covert aid to the Americans from the very beginning of the conflict in 1775. After the first major defeat of British troops by the Americans at the battle of Saratoga in 1777, France formally recognised the independent United States and established an alliance with them. Many American naval vessels were purchased and outfitted in France at French government expense.

Now, I know you think the mighty US won alone the WWII ... Russians did not do anything, Britts neither, French resistance and so on. It was all John Wayne doing...

What war has the US won before picking on a lethargic minuscule archaic country as Iraq??? Vietnam maybe ....

And if you measure countries greatness by the numbers of war they win, why in hell do you say that you are liberators, pacefist and so on...

Because traditions and states of mind are passed down and take a long time to change. For instance, here in the US, we have a tradition of liberty, which is why it's so hard for the gun control lobby to destroy the second amendment.

And France has a tradition of national shame.
