Ever heard of this kind of investment? 12% profit every year

HI,

My accountant was looking into some ways for making investments. They found a company in the USA, that is offering the following

You invest at least 10.000 dollar, and then get 12% interest every year.

THis is what they do to get this high intererest

Imagine you're deadly sick, and you don't have cash, but you do have a good dead-insurance, they buy the insurance from you, and they pay your doctor bills till that period. Or they arange other things for the family of the sick guy/girl

When the guy pass away, they get the money from the insurance.

The accountant is still looking into this, and it sound a bit strange to me, but did you every heard of this kind of companies?

it's not rocket science, it's merely "factoring" of life insurance policies, a common practice... i'd check in to who is running the show tho, i know of scams in that industry

Mr. Marks 05-13-2003 01:49 PM

Maybe what you invested into fails. There goes your $10k.

Yes I have heard of this, but better check it out from one end to the other. These can be scammy type operations.

Viaticals are plagued with fast buck artists. I know one of the guys who ran a huge operation here in Florida and got busted after they hauled in over $90 Million. They had good intentions, but couldn't keep up with the syncing to the policies and took in cash that wasn't then invested into what they had promised.

Funny thing they got off with only some hefty civil penalties from what I heard and probably have a lot of the take over in the islands.

Let me know when you find an investment that guarantees anything above the Fed interest rate.

Roald 05-14-2003 03:41 AM

I was wondering the same Andre, give me a call when you've found something interesting :thumbsup
