Also an easy one, although for now the keywords would only be in the subject line. Im not currently parsing the body of the threads.

I could add either a keyword list that triggers a popup or other indicator and an optional sound...

Fucking cool.....it would even be cooler if you could get rid of the
colour scheme in the htm file.....the white with black is hideous.
Maybe the same colors as GFY? Or in the next version where
users can chose background, text, link colors themselfes?

Matt, I don't really understand what you mean? I could easily turn on an XML output from this thing, but I'm not sure what you would do with such a file. What are you interfacing to? I'm open to suggestions if they make sense!

Actually I had that in there, but took it out because I figured whats the point in a ticker if you are not looking at it, but I know sometimes you gotta get that shit off the desktop for a while.

Good suggestion, I know the HTML part looks like shit especially compared to the skin.

I could have that all configurable just like the fontsize is right now.

Hey gornyhuy I installed the ticker it was working fine and then I closed it out. Now when it loads it stays maximized it wont let you adjust size of it. So if you know what might be going on hit me up on icq.

I don't like that it opens a new window everytime. It'd be nice to have an option that makes it open within the existing GFY window if the user so desires. Can that be done?

MSI = Microsoft Installer File. Works only on windows machines. If you are on Mac, sorry... I know Mac is the best thing since sliced bread, but in all honesty it only represents <5% of the market. No kidding. And this thing IS free.

If you are on an older windows machine, you can get MSI support from the Microsoft website. Just search for Microsoft installer on www.microsoft.com

Thats what I got is windows xp and I had the same problem. It would not install right gave me a error of some sort. I just redownloaded the file and it installed corretly. Then I closed the program and reopened the file and cant take it off of maximized, it stays full screen all the time. How can we fix this?

Shit, you are right there is a maximize problem of some kind.

I'll fix it in the next version, but in the meantime its easy to fix on your own:

right now, the maximize button toggles between truly maximized and simply really big but still movable. So what you do is get it in the 'movable' state, grab the top bar as low as you can and scootch it up so that you can see the bottom right hand corner of the window. Then go down to that corner and resize the window to a smaller size.

No problem!

Next time you load the app, it should be in new size/position again.

No, I cannot get it to work, and I haven't found anything on microsoft's site for XP. I click your link and just get a bunch of gobbledygook. Guess I'm not destined for a ticker hehe.

Installer 2.0 is the version you need, works on Win2K and WinXP, but it comes pre-installed on XP so I don't know why you don't have it already.
