i got an offer... should i sell?
 

got an offer on a domain name today. not sure if i want to sell it though, i've slated it for a good project that would probably prove to be fairly fruitful. got like 5 domains for the project, and the guy's pretty much interested in just the one, but it comes close to making the others useless. i mean, i could use the others, but it'd be fairly conflicting for the most part.

should i sell? be nice to have the extra cash to buy some advertising or something, and the project isn't that far into production so it wouldn't be a huge loss to back out, but i think the potential is good. i dunno. guy won't even give me a $$ offer, just wants me to hit him with the money.

How much are we talking about here? 100 bucks?

How can we give advice if you don't tell us the domain name and the price?

well, i haven't decided what amount i'd sell it for. probably as the domain stands, i wouldn't expect much more realistically than $150 coming out of it, if he really wanted it. but, i really think the potential for me is a lot more, 6 months down the road after the release and the site gets moving. it's a decent name, but there's no traffic, and i don't have anything up at the moment.

i thought about just asking a lot and unloading all 5 domains, and just abandoning the project, but it's hard to think of abandoning what could potentially be another stream of good monthly income.

If it's only $150, your domain only needs to get you 5 to 7 sales to make that.

yeah, basically :). the only reason i was really thinking about selling was that the release is still probably 2 months away, and it's a lot of work. but, fuck that, it'd worth it if it only made a few $k.
