people who buy bootlegs are also the same kind of people who buy the ultragold special edition. it's more about seeing something before it's released.

hmm.. jump into any number of irc-warez channels and promotional copies are there, ripped and at decent quality. Good luck downloading it, the queues are longer than this thread will ever be, but if you have the patience and a good connection you'll probably get it in a day or two.

Hell, Ocean's 11 was available some 3 weeks before it was released in theaters. Most of the "good quality" boots leak from either the studio itself (sometimes intentionally) and from reviews and writers at magazines/ezines who get promotional material in the week or two before the main release.

I think Hooper makes a great point.. a good portion of those who seek out the boot wind up buying the Ultramax Extended Platinum Box Set with the director's cut and the $300 still frame from the actual film. They're big fans, they want it all.
