But the worst question is when you guys ask "What is your budget?"

Please stop that shit, its mostly guys from Cockamania or some other shit hole that ask that but lately some US providers started to ask that too.

how the fuck are they gonna know what to offer you if they dont know how much you have to spend? the more you spend, the more discounts you get. duh.

I have often debated asking this of my programming clients.

I have found that it is better to speak with them a bit, get an idea/feel of what they are looking for and then give them a round about price.

If I were the client, it would seem a bit weird being asked that question.

If I were searching for some specific content, I would put together an RFP and mail it to X, Y & Z content producers with exact specifications of how to reply. Then you go with whichever you like most. Pretty common in the business world no?

I use to ask what someones budget was, I found it to be a little in·tim·i·dat·ing. So it's best to feel the client out it works. I usually give him an estimate and we work from there.
