I have WMV files how hard is it to make it MPG and Real format?

Who here does this?

If for every 100 TGP submitters and gallery builders and banner designers there would be one guy with a editing talent that would be good, so instead of making $2 an hour they can make some real money

You want to convert from a wmv file?

I'm pretty sure you need the avi first to convert. I use a program called Cleaner, I don't think it converts from wmv.

go to download.com and search for "media converter"

you'll get about 50 proggies that will convert from any format to the other...

Convert to Avi, using Virtualdub and then run it through tmpgenc to make it mpeg1

or you can take the wmv and in some cases it will run through tmpgenc already and you can convert it right to mpeg1


as for real format, I have nooooooo clue, I hate that shit and so do most people.

also, I'd recommend signing up at a Real Movie Forum.... Everyone there knows there shit and it should be easier to find someone willing to help ya, Everyone over here runs movie sites and programs.

TMPenc converts WMV to MPG. From there you can cut and convert to RM using Real Encoder app.

I have been getting into video editing past month or so....

Definately need the RAW AVI file, it allows you to make whatever formats you want, and helps retain the top quality...

A good peice of software for this is Media Cleaner...

Once into WMV it can be a bitch to get them back to a format that is more usable. Also once converted to WMV it has been compressed pretty hard and the path the crappy looking video is wide and slippery.

If you need someone to do it for you, I have the tools and I can get it done.

You can take a wmv file and convert it directly to an .rm file with Vegas Video.

using raw .avi would be the best way to go. Media Cleaner is good to use. Actually Cleaner just released a new version of Cleaner called CleanerXL http://www.discreet.com/cleanerxl/

anyone using XL? i got it but i like 5.whatever it is better. couldn't find a good way to do mass converting while adding the meta info quickly

i dont think i could do it in 2, but im pretty sure i could get both mpeg and rm in 5 minutes.
