Google Basics

Ok just curious. Answer seems obvious, but i guess you never know huh ...

google search for "keyword A" and shows 100k results.

google search for "keyword B" and shows 300k results.

Does this mean its easier to get a page 1 listing on keyword A?

Im asking because i did searches for some very popular words and came up with way less "competition" as i would have expected.

Stalinrocks 05-11-2003 01:27 AM

Yes B works best although sometimes the path from A to Z does not always cross B. It's all very Zen. There really is no spoon.

stocktrader23 05-11-2003 01:30 AM

Shut the fuck up thief.

You're welcome Fletch.

DarkJedi 05-11-2003 01:55 AM

fuck A and B.
i usually go for C

Roald 05-11-2003 01:59 AM

Uhhhhh............ok

However, if the results of a particular keyword aren't very targetted it's a lot easier to break into. (e.g. you search for monkey brains and receive results about "monkeys" and a few results about "brains" but nothing about "monkey brains")

Cheers

are you making fun of me ?

The more adwords there are the harder it is to get in. That's how I figured it would work anyway =)

the(G)thang 05-11-2003 10:08 AM

According to google-dance.com I'm going to be #2 for a keyword thats got 395,000 competitors, and #1 for a keyword thats 200,000. Also several others, all with 1 website.
And lil2rich4u, shut the fuck up - you stole my fukin domain and now your trying to get it listed. I hope you rot in hell.

You want to identify what people who BUY porn are searching for.

The number of searches for each term is largely irrelevant, and most places that record the number of searches (ie, overture free tool and wordtracker) are suspect.

ie, if overture wanted more bids on a particular term all they need to do is boost their recorded number of searches for that particular term and it will attract more bids.
