I have never stayed there, but the bathrooms at the gas station are amazing.

Hah, I grew up in SLO county. Never stayed at the madonna inn, but ate at the restaurant a handful of times.

The interior design is absolutely incredible. Definitely tacky...but I've never seen anything else like it.

The bathrooms are...interesting.

Stayed there 20 yrs ago... from the look of the photos, not much has changed.

You're right, lots of craft beer up there now.

yeah if you're into craft beer it's hard to beat SLO county

some of the local breweries have achieved national distribution (firestone, barrelhouse) and there's a fuck-ton of restaurant/breweries that brew their own shit in-house.

Just be sure you like IPA :winkwink:

Back in 1986 I was there - Never stood in the "Rock Room" but got into the Big Band music as me and the now ex ate our dinner -

Top notch place -- But back then, they didnt accept Visa - Time might have changed -

pretty sure they accept visa.. it's a nice place, old though. the rooms didn't have high speed internet, big screen TV etc when i was last there...

Well, I am the Craft Beer Guy so I am pretty aware of what's happening in the craft beer world. That being said, neither Firestone Walker or BarrelHouse are at national yet. I kind of feel sad for a lot of them.

You can get those beers in a LOT of states, my man. Fig mountain too. But lets not argue, lets just agree there's really good beer in SLO :)
