Any methods to mend a USB drive?

I got this sandisk 32GB USB3 drive about 3 months ago, for occasional transferring of files between my mac and my PC.

Somethings screwed up on it, cause the mac just doesn't see it at all anymore, and when I plug it into the PC it says do I want to fix it? I click yes, and thats it - Ive left it overnight, but no further prompts or boxes appear nor does the drive in 'This PC'...

I just tried it again just now and I got a 'The USB device you just connected to windows is not recognised' - But it WAS recognised, because they were able to tell me it wasn't !

Any ideas guys? its only a cheapo drive but it was handy !

I use EaseUS Partition Master to fix recalcitrant drives. They have a free version for personal use.

go to the manufactures website and get the tool rebuild the file system, not sure you can keep the data, they might have a repair tool. I think HP might have the tool

Probably just needs a reformat, unless you got poo in it.

Why do you think it might be fake? I filled up my 32Gb drives with VR porn the other day with no issues. :upsidedow

running a USB drive on different operation systems may causes this so try to run it on one system or one environment (windows environment) at least.
