NBA Playoff Talk: Who's Your Pick?

I was impressed with the Mavericks during the regular season, Now it's playoff time, they barely squeaked past the Blazers.
And This Week they got blown out at home by the Kings (123-113) this game wasn't close till the end when the kings put in the bench players.

I'm thinking Kings win again tonight but not in a completely dominated game.

Net's looked good last night against the Celtics...

I haven't watched any of the 76ers series against the Pistons, just not enough star power to make that game interesting for me.

Lakers aren't playing BAD, but they aren't playing good enough to win this series against the Spurs, they are one of my favorite teams, but this year isn't going to be a championship year

MrPopup 05-08-2003 12:06 PM

i always pick your mother. the brazilian wax looks great and tastes even better.

Lensman 05-08-2003 12:06 PM

Lakers all the way!

Until the end of this round.

Platinum Lantern 05-08-2003 12:09 PM

I just can't see the Lakers getting out of this 0-2 hole and winning the next 4 out of 5 games.

Everybody's been saying whoever wins the west will win the championship, but I think the Net's can get with any of the top teams in the West (minus the Lakers)

PaulSweet 05-08-2003 12:16 PM

I'm backing the Spurs now..... :thumbsup

The Mavs are toast, they shouldn't have made it past the Blazers and the Kings are going to prove that fact.

bushwacker 05-08-2003 12:24 PM

I would never count the Lakers out, but they have been bit by the injury bug.

JimW 05-08-2003 12:29 PM

Sacramento is pretty talented,

Sacramento over Mavs in 6 games round 2
Sacramento over Lakers in 6 games round 3
Sacramento over Nets in 4 games in finals.

Lykos 05-08-2003 12:35 PM

KINGS RULE:thumbsup

Platinum Lantern 05-08-2003 12:37 PM

The Kings are good, but I get frustrated watching Chris Webber play, he's not a guard but he wants to play like one, the Kings would be even better if he played his position and let the guards handle the perimeter shooting.

It's almost as if he's scared to get down in the paint and body up with the guys in the NBA, his game is SOFT

69pornlinks 05-08-2003 12:40 PM

lakers still the team to beat, they don't seem fazed by 0-2 hole if they focus i see them winning 4 str8,young Kob is hungry , he got fire like all the greats had

jake2000xp 05-08-2003 12:44 PM

If the Lakers win game #3, they will win the series. I have to admit, the rotation is really messed up without Fox and now George. It may just do them in. If they can win both at home, get Devon back in the line up, they can take the Spurs..

It's not always if you think a player(not to mention a starter) is good or not, but if a team loses it's rotation, with the nba rules as they are (having to stick to the same roster throughout the playoffs, even if you sustain a injury), it can cost a series.

bushwacker 05-08-2003 12:51 PM

lakers haven't beaten the spurs all year now they have to win 4 games from them........i don't think so

Wizzo 05-08-2003 12:52 PM

It's the year of the KINGS....:thumbsup

jake2000xp 05-08-2003 12:52 PM

Where do you get four in a row? They have to win four

I really think the regular season has little to do with it. If the Lakers are to go down, it would have been nice to beat a healthy team, but such is life..

I'm not givin' up on the Mavs yet.... Steve and Dirk will find a way to win. But it's not going to get any easier if they beat the Kings and have to play the Spurs...

It does look like it's going to be Tim Duncan's and David Robinson's year.

It's true, it's true Bushwacker. Lakers are in trouble, but I see them tying the series up this weekend in LA. They lose in seven. Mavs can't play D. As good an offensive player as Notwitski is, he's just a plain awful defensive player. It takes attitude to play defense and Dallas is soft. Whoever comes out of the East is going to lose to either the Kings or the Spurs, the two likely Western Conference finalists.
My :2 cents:

jake2000xp 05-08-2003 01:50 PM

Spurs fans better not hope this does not go 7. What on earth would make you think the lakers would lose in a game 7?

JimW 05-08-2003 02:11 PM

"Sacrament defeats Dallas in 4"
come on, give the mavs 2 games in the series ;)

Platinum Lantern 05-08-2003 02:14 PM

I'm actually looking forward to the Spurs going up 3-0
and Lakers facing the challenege of being the only team in NBA history to come out of an 0-3 hole and winning a 7 game series

D-Money 05-08-2003 02:17 PM

Lakers!

If the Spurs take the next game, then it doesn't look good. But I do think the Lakers will still pull it together.

Kings look good and the Spurs are hot right now.

You just can't rule out these Lakers.

booker 05-08-2003 02:17 PM

While it probably won't happen, I want to see a Lakers-76ers rematch.

harvey 05-08-2003 02:20 PM

what amazes me is how the hell will the Lakers win if they're just a bunch of daisies. Spurs will lose one game (prolly next) because they'll go confident after beating Lakers' asses 6 times in a row, last time in a shameful way. This is the worst scenario I can imagine for Spurs, but it can even be avoided by the energy of Manu and Tony Parker, so a 4-0 can happen too. Anyway, I guess this will be a 4-1 with loooooots of luck (for Lakers I mean) :1orglaugh

His game isn't soft at all...his ankles are.

For a forward that shoots just under 50% for his career and takes that many perimeter shots...Let him do what he's doing ;)

AdultNex 05-08-2003 03:43 PM

Boston vs. Nets: Boston!

Mavs vs. Sacramento: Sacramento, even though I really want Mavs to win.

I want the Lakers to go down. Kobe needs to learn a lesson.

You're dreaming! :winkwink:

bushwacker 05-09-2003 06:38 AM

dayum Dallas puts up 83 pts. in the first half....van excel went off in the first half last night

funkmaster 05-09-2003 06:47 AM

boneprone told me about a week ago that there was a german guy playing in the NBA ...

... after introducing me to the AnalHobitt, he introduced me to dirk werner nowitzki. first impression was: another boneprone clone ... but I´ve done some research ... and there really is a german guy that goes by that name.

... ah well, basketball ... what else ?

maybe not...

Mavs got hot from 3.
Van Excel inspired his teammates. Now with Webber and Jackson hurt, things are definately more interesting in this series.....

Now if we could only make sure the Spurs take care of the Lakers........

Marie 05-09-2003 08:18 AM

I hope 76'ers. But I wouldn't bet on it.
