What Do You Use For Website Stats?

What do you use for website sites? I am apprehensive about using Google Analytics. Has anyone tried open source, server based Matomo (aka Piwik)? What's been your experiece? Thanks in advance.

Why are you apprehensive to use GA out of curiosity?

There is a theory that they use the GA accounts to connect networks of sites that you might not want them to know are connected - You could also have the same issue with Piwik, but there is a way around it using a script that's on the Piwik site...

I am also using Statcounter and Matomo which is pretty good. It is open source and can be hosted on your server and does almost everything Analytics does.

Same here, statcounter gives a nice overview for all your sites in one interface.. helpful if you got plenty of shitty small domains lol
