Wsb Hangs Up On Me When I Ask Where My Checks Are

I have no clue why people handle things this way.

The girls on the phone basically says 'I cant give you any info on your checks right now, we are waiting for a deposit, and until that goes through on Friday no one will get paid.'

I proceed to ask, listen Im not calling for this periods check, Im calling about money from February 16th until now.

She continues to beat around the bush about some deposit WSB is waiting on and they dont have money to pay affiliates until that goes through, and she gets flustered and hangs up on me.

I as NOT rud,e my girlfriend was sitting at her desk nhext to me while I was on the phone and knows I was not rude during this conversation, i didnt get the girls name it was a really short call.

This shits getting old.

I have to call every time I am owed money from these people.

It must be horrible to be a WSB employee... the pressure of having to lie to your customers, the business not doing well... I bet the employee paychecks are also coming in slow.

I feel sorry for them. I remember how it was to manage a company on the edge. Using today's money to pay yesterday's bills.

so basically it comes down to another girl on the phone saying

'they are holding funds for 45 days for chargebacks,' then it takes a while to get the check out.

no clue how these people work.

You know... some of you guys are owed a lot of money. Hop on a plane and go see what's up. Post your PayPal address, I'm sure other people hungry for their money would be willing to pitch in a couple bucks to help pay for your trip.

I had to call the last time I needed a check.

Last time it was 'your address on file is incorrect.'

yet I had been getting checks from them without problems for months.

Their excuses change as it seems the 'owed' amount does.

Im getting tired of having to deal with this shit.

Last check I got was for Jan 15th - Feb 15th.

All I wanted to know was why I had not been paid anything else yet.

So it looks like theres a 45 day hold.

WSB: "I can send you a check but we don't have any funds in our bank to cover it right now, we're supposed to get a deposit tomorrow."

ME: "So basically, you're telling me that you have no idea when I will be paid?"

WSB: "That's correct."

hmmm.

That's the same bullshit run around I had been getting for the past few months. Everytime I called their accounting department was "out to lunch", all emails and phone messages went unanswered.

I saw they were located in south florida, pulled up their office location in MapQuest and made little drive down to their shit hole of an office in hollywood. I figured they'd have a nicer place, but what I saw was a little run down office space with 2 girls crammed into a cluttered ass room with piles of paper and crap all over the place.

I walked up and tried to open the door but it was locked, then I could hear the 2 girls talking behind the door, and after a little bit one peeked out the window and let me in. I thought it seemed a little shady.

But anyways, I walked out of there with a check which caught me up until 4/15/03. Deposited it in the bank that day, and the thing actually cleared.

Sounds like its time to send over a guerilla with a baseball bat in hand.

I just called and the bitch hung up on me!

Me: Hi! I'm a webmaster promoting CFF and you guys owe me about 8k and i would like to know when i'll get paid.

Her: I'm sorry but we can't send you a check right now because we are waiting a deposit from the bank who processed the transactions.

Me: Well, that's not my problem, i have an agreement with you, not with your bank!

Her: There will be a deposit from the bank this week, this is all i can tell you.

Me: I'm sorry, that's not gonna work, i want a firm commitment that my check will leave this week.

Her: I'm sorry i can't do that.

Me: Well, can you explain something to me? About 1 month and a half, someone from WSB explained on a message board (GFY) that the checks were running late because you guys were moving office space, and ALL checks will be mailed within the end of that week.

Her: Silence

Me: So, can you please fax me a letter explaining what you just told me? That you can't pay me because the bank who processed the transactions didn't deposit the money into your account? I would like to have this in writting please.

Her: Silence

Me: What is your name?

Her: "hung up"

That's about how it went for me too.

Very similar.

As soon as you ask about money, she mentions a deposit they are waiting for and then dodges the rest until she gets flustered and hangs up.

Same girl most likely.

on one hand i feel bad for them because if they had the money they would pay and blood cant be squeezed out of a penny.

on the other hand if they cant pay the bills its time to close up shop.

If you do this remember to tell them at the time that you are recording the call ???

If they are fucking over webmasters it should be taken down immediately so no one else gets screwed over.
