The annoying thing about playing games on my PC...
I got right into 'Riptide Renegades' - A 'Jet Ski' type racer, where you race round different tracks set in space, or in vegas or stuff like that. Its great fun and took me a month to get proficient at it and be able to learn the tracks and how to do the stunts etc...
Now I go to play it online against other people, and there's virtually never anyone else online to race :( I find people occasionally, but as soon as I beat them mercilessly, they log off :( Very dissapooting... :( |
That's a 4 year old budget title that cost $10 when it was released in 2016. I'd be surprised to see anyone on there.

I like it.... :2 cents: |
I wait in the lobby for like 20 30 mins, waiting for someone to join me, then someone logs in. I get all excited as it counts down to the race, but then they log out right away... They must be so afraid of racing me that they don't even start...

That is curse of modern gaming - there is million of games available . I miss good old times from 90's when there was 5 main games for which everyone know and play it then. For example, like mortal kombat 2 and 3.

Yes, I guess its hard for people like me, who are probably the worlds best player alive, to be unable to compete against others, as they are so afraid of my clearly superior skills and gameplay...
Its lonely at the top... :( |

Bots will always cheat. Always be just a little faster than you can be, take the corner a fraction of a second quicker than you can etc etc... But a real person is a fair match - Best skilled player wins :) When I lose to bots, I just get frustrated. When I lose to a human, I think think well played, respect... Now what can I learn from how you beat me etc... :) |
Now I feel like downloading it just so I can beat you x
|
You can try... :)

Mobile games don't have that problem. Call of Duty mobile is my new addiction.

That's why I never jumped to the next new thing.. Just stick to a game with a good fan base. I was always a 1st person shooter guy but the "realistic" ones not the bunny hop bullshit.. I played DayZ when it was a mod and I still play it here and there today despite all it's bugs it's slowly gotten better. However it has sort of a cult following so there is always servers because there is really no other game to match it..
I've also played Squad off and on for the same reason. I don't really play much of any of them anymore, but when I play I'll bounce between Squad or DayZ. I did buy Insurgency Sandstorm as well as Hunt Showdown.. Both games are awesome but both require a ton of commitment to be good at. Sandstorm is just crazy though, I saw some youtube guy describe it as "A man's version of Counter Strike" but damn it takes soo much time to learn the timing of maps and the ins and outs to be competitive vs the guys playing it 24/7. DayZ or Squad I can not play either for 6 months then go right back into them and be decent again after a few hours. |
You will just have to gracefully retire as undefeated champion.

Real shame though, as I never been 'really really good' at a video game since the days of the playstation... Having used a mac for over 10 years, I have not played any games at all, so getting the 'Gaming PC' opened up a raft of poossibilities Id never imagined. Riptide Renegades really took my attention for being fast paced, exciting and a game that you play in brief spurts (the races) which only last a few minutes each. I'm still more attracted to that format than to games which are immersive and take days and days of long play to complete.... I guess that goes back to my ideal games, which are the old video games I used to put a coin in to play at the local arcade... |
