Harley Davidson just got cool

Harley Davidson was always cool :cool-as-a

Funny how the free market is doing what you climate change hysterics couldn't :1orglaugh

Harley Davidson is in a crappy spot. Their bikes are boring, and their customer base is growing older and the older they get the less than can ride no less afford their products. This is obviously an attempt to go after younger customers.

I will admit it looks good... But I prefer the sleeker sports bikes.

yuu.design 09-10-2019 09:51 AM

looks super, but i still prefer the classic ones

An attempt to go after young customers who just so happen to have 30k+ laying around for a toy? This is H2 territory which is the top of the top for sport bikes.

Vendzilla 09-10-2019 11:42 AM

Figures Mark would come up with this, been out for a while
The prototype was featured with Black Widow riding it in the Avengers, Age of Ultron.
The bike has made some changes since then and it's built for an average sized rider, too small for me, about the size of a Dyna.
I'm getting a new bike next year and I'm between getting a Road Glide Harley or a Roadmaster from Indian

I had a Honda CBR 1100 XX. Seems the biggest bike Honda has is this, which tops out at $16k.

https://powersports.honda.com/street...port/cbr1000rr

This why Harley is having so many problems... They are building expensive bikes no one wants.

People still want them, the demographic is changing and Harley is adapting.
As people get older and want to ride, they find out sitting in the fetal position wears you out

You are comparing 2 completely different target markets. Toyota vs BMW.

pornguy 09-10-2019 02:49 PM

Can not stand the sound of those damn things. Hope the new ones are quieter

I disagree. I assume you mean Harley Davidison is Toyota, and the Honda and Yahamas are BWM. If that is the case, then Toyota is trying to become like BMW. Harley Davidson is clearly trying to appeal to a younger demographic.

It's been done before. Cadillac used to be big old boats for old men. Now they are hip and trendy.

Not to me. They were fake cool. They made so much noise that people would turn their heads to look at the riders, and the riders thought that "Hey they are looking at me! I must be cool!". But that's not why, and they weren't.

Is that why the insurance is in your Mom's name?

Grapesoda 09-11-2019 11:42 AM

the bike doesn't go far enough for a good ride Mark. I would ride from LA to Frazier Park up though the 33 from Ojala then across Lockwood Valley, then across the 138 and back on the 14 to the Angeles Forest Highway to get back home. 143 miles don't do it...

this is the bike I would get https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...es/custom.html

You're bike isn't cool. It uses too much energy per kilometre. Most of the energy is converted to heat and noise, and not enough of it is converted to momentum. It creates too much pollution.

It looks sexy, but the technology is ancient. And therefore, I 2MuchMark, King of the GFY Nerds, proclaim it to be UNCOOL. So say we all? So say we all.

Drinking club called the wild weasels, damn fun to ride with, but you better have your a game ready to keep up

Seems EVs are the newest technology to you, dumbass.. :1orglaugh

Ugh, ok, you got me. But, battery and efficiency has improved a million-fold since then. Gasoline motors are still inefficient, and still pollute.

Guess VVT, SCR catalysts, turbochargers, gasoline direct injection and electronic fuel injection are all ancient technologies and there have been no improvements of efficiency at all. That's why new cars fit the strict Euro 6 norm and consume 4-5 litres per 100 km instead of 10 as they did 20 years ago ... because they all use ancient technologies. :1orglaugh

Number of improvements of EVs: 1 (batteries) :1orglaugh

Ladies and gentlemen, here comes the science from our local expert **********ss ... :1orglaugh
