Wouldnt it be cool if it was normal and socially acceptable for men to wear wigs?

Just thinking - I know men CAN wear hair pieces etc, but you are always gonna look sideways at a bloke who has always been bald suddenly having long hair... But wouldn't it be great if the taboo was broken and it was normal for guys to have 2 or 3 different wigs for a few different looks and styles, both long and short?

I don't mean womens wigs. But proper mens hairstyles... You wouldn't need to be bald to wear them, just choose the style that suits your mood of the day and pop it on, and off you go :)

People would still think, 'He's wearing a wig' but it would be more like wearing a nice pair of trainers, where people would say 'Nice Shoes'...

What can we do to change the world and make my dream come true?

Right? The dude in Khruangbin wears a wig and people talk shit. The girl wears a wig and everybody says she's hot. What gives?

When my wife and her friends are getting ready at my place for pre drinks before a night out, it's like a scene from a fucking costume drama with 'fake hair' lying around everywhere. So one of them is blonde with short hair. But nope, 30mins later she's downstairs and all ready to go with fucking hair down to her ass. And yes it is just "normal" for all 5 of them to do this most weekends.

Imagine if that was a group of guys. Short brown hair becomes blonde and in some pointy style etc.

No wonder guys wake up after a night out meeting some chick and wonder WHO THE FUCK they have actually woke up next to...

Male wigs aren’t always done properly. They are obviously wigs and aren’t fitted properly or not the right color.

My hairdresser does hairpieces and wigs and I see many on styrofoam heads. When a guy comes in, sometimes I can tell but not often enough. The hairpieces are made of real hair and men pay $700 but women pay $1,600+ depending on length.

The hair is from China and women are paid just $200 for long hair. So little for several years of growing hair but it doesn’t cost the women much other than shampoo and conditioner. No trims allowed or coloring done as they color it to order when it gets to Florida.

It’s a shame that they are not concerned with male hair like they are with female hair. Celebrities have ten-thousand dollar hairpieces that are almost hidden. John Travolta, Christian LeBlanc, Bruce Willis, offhand I think of them though John has shaved his head and stopped the wigs.

CB, I see a buzz cut but assume that your hairline is receding. If you had long, thick hair suddenly it would be obvious to those who know you. But small pieces on each side that come forward a little every month could be right for you. Professional hair people would create the pieces but the cost might bankrupt you. Just a smidge of forward growth is not too noticeable.

Women with PCOS can have male-pattern baldness ranging from a slight decrease on the temples to total loss in front. It’s devastating at first but you learn to compensate and deal with it. A former friend without PCOS had no hair on top from unknown reasons. She wore a bandana that she cemented to her head with hairdresser glue, a form of surgical glue. She didn’t want to worry about strong winds or hats or accidentally falling off.

People adjust to their circumstances.

I'm a hair farmer. I've donated to Locks of Love twice. It's my way of sharing being blessed with a full head of hair in my 50's.

CS, you're already wearing a nice wig on your thumbnail, i guess you can make it locally acceptable

Why would a man want to wear a wig tho? Serious question. Seems unnecessary. My hairline is starting to look chopped around my forehead... when it gets bad enough I'm going clean bald and moving along with life. Never considered a wig, hair club potions, surgery or that grease marker shit people use.

I am going to 51 next week, and other than a receeding hairline I still have my hair and no freaking bald spot. I see so many of my frinds with bald spots.... I wonder if baseball hats have something to do with it.

Grow that shit out, chicks dig it. And when they comment on it you can tell them about donating to Locks of Love so they know you're an awesome guy and not just all about pussy and weed. :winkwink:

Thinking the way that you appear to be thinking, then yes, it is unnecessary - Totally. But think of it this way...

You wear shoes yeah? Why? Well above all else, to protect your feet. Fair enough, so why not just get one single pair of heavy duty black boots and be done?

Because you don't want just one pair of shoes, and you want to be able to choose your shoes based on the activity or dress code of an event... Its nice and functional to have a choice...

That's what I mean about hair - Change your hair, change your mood - Different looks for different events. I'm not suggesting all the wigs should all look absolutely real... Just that changing your hair could be the same as changing your shoes, if people's perceptions changed as to male wig wear... :2 cents:

Same, I used to have it down to my ass.Made money in a commercial because of it. Starting to let it grow again.Fuck the man!

When your beard grows 5 times faster than top of head you know it is time for a beanie in winter has to be warmer than any wig lol.

SBJ 09-01-2019 01:34 AM

I read this and googled men's wigs.. Wow some cool looking ones but not sure if they would look real enough. With my hairline, it would be nice if it looked real

Maybe I should try the $50 one and see? :1orglaugh

Wig tech is getting better and better. As a photographer, I used to have a rule against shooting people in wigs, but the tech is so good now that rule wouldn't make any sense today.

Well thats kinda my point - If perceptions changed from 'WIG!!! Fucking LOSER!!!' to 'Oh, look he's wearing a wig, no big deal' they wouldn't need to look 100% real.

Watch an episode of Saturday Night Live and those wigs look amazing.

That specific site looks like they just googled pics of hot guys and snarfed images off the internet. Still might be interesting to order a mud price one and see how it looks.

There are for sure men's wigs where they look real though.

42 Celebrity Men Who Are Less Bald Than They Used To Be

PS: I forgot when I shaved my head for the first time - must be 20 years or so.

And I don't give a flying fuck about it, wouldn't invest even one penny into any possible remedy.

And girls don't care either - as long as you wear your baldness proudly and don't try to hide it

I saw Jake Gyllenhaal, that chef who yells, and a few more on page one so far. The human hair for $137 is made by humans but created by machines.

Some awesome hair but I think they’re real hair and not wigs. But I’d love to see a wig from there on someone from here!
