Any Apple Experts Here?

iPhone dead. Won’t charge, won’t reset, seems like the battery is dead.

Getting texts on iPad except from Apple so I can’t reset my password to use a help account. I can text myself and bff is texting me but six tries and Apple is not showing up.

Tried to get a new ID but they text you a code.

I’m fucked. Can’t get to the AT&T store until next Thursday.

Anything I’m not thinking about to do?

Try a different cord, the pins might be damaged also, or the battery is no good anymore.

The cord is in my iPad and works fine. Recharges it every night without issues. I’m going to the AT&T store this week if possible for a new battery. Since the volume/power press isn’t working, it seems like a battery issue.

I’ll bring the cord along so they can check it in the iPhone. I don’t abuse or overuse the phone and it’s about a year or so old. I didn’t have it when I moved two years ago.

I swear Apple makes cheap batteries so it has to be replaced often.

Can you stick your sim card in someone else phone to receive the password recovery text?

No SIM card. It’s just odd that the password works for email but not for the Apple support section. I get confirmation email yet I’m locked out.

If my bff didn’t pay the $50/month charge for the phone I’d get another type of phone. I’ve never looked for another brand of phone but I think it’s time already.

At least I can get email now as that account is for doctors only. Otherwise I lose email to Spam or overlook it and trash it.

The ISP that is used doesn’t give you email access like others do for you.

Order a new battery and kit from Amazon for less than $50 and do it yourself in about 5 minutes. You could have your phone fixed tomorrow if you so choose.

If I had $50 I would consider it. That’s IF the battery is the issue and not anything else.

The local store can’t fix phones so I might have to send it in and wait about two weeks for return. I’m waiting for my bff to either set up the return or advise me of another idea

New iPhone shipped overnight for delivery tomorrow. I can’t back up the dead one but Amazon has batteries for $10 with installation kit. I’ll get one and ask AT&T to install it next week when I’m in the area. Back it up, upload it, use the old one as a backup iPhone.

I’m waiting on confirmation for delivery tomorrow.

They are shipping you a new iPhone overnight at no charge?

We never did that when I worked at Apple. They would send a box to the customer first, then the customer puts the broken device in the box and mail it back out and wait a few weeks for the new/repaired device to be sent back.
They do have technicians who will go to your house for repairs with AppleCare, but I don't know all of those details anymore or if that covers phones, it's been about 12 years lol.

Apple is sending the box and I should have it by next Friday. AT&T would ship it overnight BUT the deductible is $115. I’d rather wait than have my bff pay that much money for the phone.

He bought me the iPhone upgrade in March yet for two months the battery was not acting right. Three months of minimal usage is not enough to kill a good battery.

But, Apple can’t fix it if Find My Phone is on. I’m going to iCloud to turn it off.
