If the 30 day membership is a buck why when i click on the websites at porkings.com does it say a 3 day trial for $4.95 i thought a trila for 60 seconds is free? And you only promote your $1 monthly subscription on your exit console? Im not bitchin just want to get the facts straight, help me out, thanks.

So, then they cancel at the end of 4 days, and pornkings only makes $3, right? Uh-uh

Click on the Terms and Conditions link. (Which, statistically, very few people do). A couple of 100 words in you will see the following clause:

"If you purchase a trial subscription, and decide to terminate your trial subscription, you must do so AT LEAST one (1) day prior to the end of the Trial Period "

So, after 3 days, the consumer is actually in for a charge of $39.98. Plus, extend this out to the end of the month, when the original beyondbizzare membership renews, and the consumer doesn't get charged $1..they don't get charged $19.98...nope they get $37.12. And when do they get charged this..again 1 day before end of trial.

Add on to that the 8 pop-ups that the front page spawns...alll offers that pornkings won't have to pay out any affiliate commissions on...and it's pretty easy to see how they can pay $20 or more to the affiliate for every join.

So, how do they do it..the same way a number of the "big" players do it. By clever slight of hand...And by keeping the offers on the cusp of being legal...through T & C's that they know the average consumer will never read or see.

And even if they do read the T & C's. then the question must be asked...is a 4 day trial 96 hours. Is it todays date, plus 3 more days, ending at midnight. And if midnight, by whose time zone...Pornkings' or the consumer's. So you see, even if the consumer does read the T & C's, the cards are still stacked in Pronkings favor.

I do not doubt that it is easy to cancel a membership. But, unfortunately, the average consumer will assume that a 4 day trial is a 4 day trial. Not 3 days. So, when they go to cancel, it is already to late. And they have just been charged $39.98.

You know my facts above are accurate. The only thing that is weak here is your response. And the whole "flipping fries" thing...that response didn't work for 12Clicks and it won't work for you. But, then again, it has nothing to do with the facts I have laid out. This is the only industry I know of where business owners, like yourself, believe that a proper response is equivelent to "yah, but your dad makes less money then my dad". That's why I still contend that many of you wouldn't last a day in mainstream.

So, to summarize, your whole business model depends on the consumer not reading terms and conditions fully, or otherwise being tricked. Until you develop a business model that relies on the consumer willingly jumping on your product, and renewing because they choose to renew..not because they missed a cancellation date or misunderstood...until that date, you remain a bottom dweller in the business world.

I agree 100%. But that doesn't change the premise behind cross sells...and why and how they make it possible to pay the webmaster such a high amount, for what "appears" to be a $1 sale.

And, I again state that this practice is not unique to Pornkings. Most of the big players use this same approach. But, that doesn't make it any more acceptable.

Pornkings is correct..almost all of the major programs use this same type of business model. Which still does not make it right.

Years ago, the Magazine business and some other industry segments used similar misleading practices. These have all long since been cleaned up by federal legislation. The porn industry remains one of the few remaining "legal" enterprises to still get away with practices that would not be accepted in other segments.

And how do they do it, you ask?

Again the answer is simple. For local or federal politicians or agencies to regulate the industry more closely would imply that they are in a way accepting the industry. A headline in the New York Times, saying "Gov. (insert name here) pushes regulations through cabinet to regulate porn industry free trials" would be interpreted by most citizens to say "the Gov. supports Porn, as he is not simply shutting it down".

It's a no-win situation for regulators. So, in the meantime, the adult industry gets to continue to stretchhhhh the limits of acceptable business practices.

This is unfortunate. It just shows that the average webmaster blindly promotes various programs, without ever checking into the program themselves. Like I said above, I do not agree for a second with the business model of Pornkings..but it is a business model that is also used by many of the other major sponsors. That includes Topbucks, Nastydollars, Adult.com, and on and on.

I for one join every single site that I wish to promote. I Read the T & C's from end to end...and even carefully track the email offers that can be traced back to the sponsor.

With a little research, it's easy to determine how the game is played....And to decide if you want to make your money by slight of hand.
