Orange Is The New Black

Just finished the final season on Netflix tonight. Did anyone else see the series? Comments ?

I’ll refrain from character discussions until others post but even though I knew the ending, I was still in tears. No spoilers here but they show how our judicial system treats innocent people and how prisons change who you are.

Strong possibility of a new series that picks up where OITNB left us. I’m interested but will miss certain characters.

I’m going to watch it again from the beginning after Sons of Anarchy. Memories of Pornstache, Chin, Red and Big Boo brings me back to it.

The character saying “cowabunga mother fuckers” as a goodbye will always be with me!

I find anything Jenji Kohan touches has the same formula -- the first season is great. You look forward to season 2. Then the second season is released and gets soap opera-ish and you kind of hope it gets back on track in season 3. The third season is released and you realize it has become ridiculous and uninteresting.

She did the same thing to OITNB as she did with Weeds. Realistically, neither is worth watching beyond the second season, and truth be told, the only good seasons for each are the first.

Spoil it so people have better things to waste their time on . . .

I stopped watching after season 3

I was interesting for the first two or three episodes... After that I lost interest. Never made it past the first season.

I finished the last season in 2 days. And I love this series. Sure, some seasons were a little weaker, like the whole underwear smuggling storyline. But overall this was great and raised important issues. Will watch the whole thing again at some point.

I like the show and am looking forward to watching the last season.

I'm not sure who that person is, I would assume the creator?

I will say though that the first season of both Weeds and Orange I loved. The 2nd season was decent. The 3rd season I stopped watching. In both of them.

When I started watching, it was via iffy streaming sites so I missed episodes, quality was shit etc, but I got most of S1 and S2 under my belt... Then, upon legitimately joining netflix some years later, it asked me for three things I liked, to get a flavour of my tastes. I chose OITNB and it was added to my list. Never even looked at it since, so I think that it isn't worth it like is being suggested here...

I felt the whole thing was one giant propaganda piece trying to paint ICE in a bad light, illegal migrants in a good light, and drum up support for open borders. The season was a political statement, not a tv series.

Or putting a spotlight on the consequences of those policies from someone with a sense for humanity.

We watched the first couple of seasons but got bored with the show a couple of episodes into season 3.

If you want to check out a good female-centric show watch Killing Eve.

i loved the character development and they all meshed really well. The last season was really good considering how horrible good shows tend to end, more so with large casts, so i'd say that is as good as it can get for a season 7.

I always thought the shows weakness was how they wrote male characters. I am the last guy to get all worked up over such a thing, but it just seemed that just about every single male character in that show is an extremely weak defeated mess with SO few moments of redemption that are practically non existent. I understand the show is centered around women and I think it is one of the best group of characters ever put together with ups and downs across the board, but it just seems strange why they didn't have a single male character that wasn't a complete asshole or loser perpetually.

It's not only this show though. Breaking bad was terrible for this as well. Every single female character in that entire story is both broken and terrible and easy to hate. Last I checked, there is a bit more balance in reality. These shows were great but those details always got to me.

I only watched the first season, but that hard-ass CO with the mustache cracked me up every time he spoke.
