TBH, I love WOW Vanilla. The "instant group" feature as well as flying mounts KILLED WOW's social gaming features

Never played WoW. I've been a avid gamer almost all my life, started with the Atari pong back in the 70's or 80s.. But I've almost always stuck to first person shooters with the only notable exceptions.. I plated "Ace High 2" for probably 2 or 3 years (WW2 combat flight sim) and EVE online for a few years..

EvE was my only go at those mmog type of games, was never into the fantasy stuff. I do play Squad & insurgency at the moment.. I love the FPS's because they keep your hand eye coordination and reactions at peak levels but I only like the realistic stuff, non of the lazer guns and bunny hopping shit..

I've been playing on and off the current game, but pretty sure I won't play classic. Rose-tinted gamers are gonna go running back to current game after a month, lol.

It's stupid. Everyone already played WoW classic back in 2006.

What's the point of replaying the game 12 years later. Everyone will get bored after the first few days and leave.

PvP was more fun and raids were tough

Exactly. You had to EARN your level. Also, you had to WALK so you basically were forced to take in the scenery/setting/environment.

"contemporary" WOW isn't as social or immersive. Too many people rushing through the game.

I first played WoW back in the early day where, like you said, you had to walk. Not to mention, when you did get to level 60 it was a real effort to early the 200g to get the epic mount so you could at least run faster.

I was in a guild that would raid and I ended up rarely doing the raids because they were so involved they would take 15+ hours a week to do and I just didn't have the time.

It was a very different game then. One thing I liked was the way building your character through talents really changed the style of play and what your character was good at/for. Now all DPS is pretty much the same as is healing etc. Strategy has been replace with firepower.

I'm not sure if I will play it, but I might check it out just for nostalgia.

so then rogues will still be overpowered to hell than running around backstabbing to kill in 1 hit?

or will all the balance patches be there already
