Metallica was good... In the 80s.

Metallica is a classic example of what happens when a man with a burning desire to prove himself, eventually proves himself, and then doesn't know what to do after that.

Hetfield was working up to that point with their 80's albums, and then fully accomplished it with The Black Album. He was trying to overcome his religious upbringing, and when finally he did it, he was like "what now? I haven't got that dragon to slay anymore".

So their subsequent albums were always going to be shit, because he lost his hunger and his focus.

While I do like some of their post-Black Album stuff, I do agree it falls off. I think some of it also has to do with success. They were a successful band prior to the Black Album but that album shot them into the stratosphere and had them playing stadiums around the world. Once you suddenly have millions and millions of dollars and you can have anything you ever wanted, it's harder to get pissed off.

Actually not. I wasn't listening them even if they were mega popular in Soviet Union. I liked Iron Maiden, Slayer and... such things like Helloween. Course later I was to concerts of other guys like Ozzy (it wasn't Black Sabbath at that times).

I like Load and Reload (not as much as load) but I don't think they are as good as The Black Album or And Justice for All.

I like that documentary they made "Some Kind of Monster." That shit was funnier than "Spinal Tap."

The Justice. Not pre... English is not my mother language but even I see the difference. Prejudice (not Pre Justice - learn your fuckin' language already) is something you always do at this forum and it's not the same as Justice and especially if it's for all.

P.S. I'm not a grammar Nazi and I don't want to post this, but it is a meaning of the main album's theme. "Pre" is always bad while "for all" is the only thing the people have to follow up.

If so, he meant a nonsense. The Justice for All was great, the Black one was great, Load and Reload were at least cool.

There are many videos (every idiot has an iphone today) of that song and there is a longer version where you can hear the people chanting "spasibo". They really appreciate it and the song has touched their harts.

I have no idea where Hetfield is during the song, but Robert Trujillo sings it almost w/o any accent. Not like those American actors that play Russians in all those bullshit movies about Soviet invasion. An American singer single is almost as well as Soviet Korean.

Indeed. They are visiting Moscow oftenly and I want to say that people here welcome them very warm. Metallica is something special for Russia from the Soviet era times. I do believe they also know it, so they sings a Soviet rock song in Russian.
