Millions of trees floating on a lake for 40 years! Satellite pics

Almost 40 years ago Mount Saint Helens exploded causing land slides that pushed trees into a massive lake and they are still there on google maps.

See on google maps :

This is a close up, so zoom out for the full spectrum.

That's a cool place to visit. Even all these years later you can see the devastation. I was a kid when it erupted and we lived a good 150 miles away but we still had a heavy downfall of ash. It was about 2 inches thick on the roof of our house.

I'll never forget when our whole neighborhood went out into the street and watched Mount saint Helens blow and then the sky turning dark and all the ash coming down everywhere like snow it was scary as hell. A few years later our family went up to see how that devastation on the mountain it was like hell on Earth but with small trees and bushes that had started to grow.

I still remember that day too, only a small amount of ash came down on us just over the border in Canada. Still have a little container of it saved somewhere I think.

In Washington everyone started putting the Mt. St. Helens ash in small jars & containers and selling it to tourists I remember that :1orglaugh:thumbsup

I was thinking the only wood I've seen like this was Cyprus that had been underwater in a swamp. the trees were covered with mud, these are more than likely dried like old fence post but still....
