Flu shots are not mandatory in Australia, but they're free to many and heavily subsidized for everyone else, I pay full price and it was $20.

The number so far of those infected "144,159 laboratory confirmed notifications" Only shows those who went to a doctor for treatment, and the doctor sent off for a test, so you can presume the actual number is 2x - 4x that amount.

This coming Flu season I highly advise all those in the Northern Hemisphere to go get a flu shot.

Ya know this is actually my first year of getting a shot, sick of wify bringing me home the most recent flu every year as she's out in public daily and meets many people, she has a shot yearly and seems to avoid them, yet brings them home for me.

Ask me in 3 months how it went so far.. mid winter I've caught nothing.
