The Civil War was never really a Civil War
The South didn't care about taking over the country and installing their own rules and laws... They just wanted to Govern themselves as they saw fit down South..
That's not the definition of a Civil War... The War was also not about freeing slaves.. Lincoln didn't care that slavery existed.. There were 15 Union States where Slavery was legal.. The war was about saving the Union and controlling the slave trade... What was Lincoln's view on slavery? Lincoln's views on slavery, race equality, and African American colonization are often intermixed. During the 1858 debates with Stephen Douglas, Lincoln expressed his then view that he believed whites were superior to blacks. Lincoln stated he was against miscegenation ( whites breeding with blacks ) and allowing blacks to serve as jurors. https://i.postimg.cc/QxxQ8gnT/67.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/FFJRjYdB/78.gif |

They still mad they lost that war, but refuse to go to nordicstan. They want to sit here and cry in their sorrows as the 40s come rolling in.
Imagine if they got up off their asses and moved to their motherland to save it from all the immigrants they're over here crying about? Instead they want watch the last bit of land they invaded be taken back and cry the whole way there. The alt right are ironic masochists. |

Dude the south formally seceded. You can't really secede unilaterally. See Spain.

Please, go and learn your history before you spew your garbage. Slavery, and the fear that it would be abolished, was the primary reason for the Civil War. Listed as the first reason in the declarations of secession for most of the southern states that seceeded. https://www.battlefields.org/learn/p...eceding-states The Declaration of Causes of Seceding States Georgia: ...............For the last ten years we have had numerous and serious causes of complaint against our non-slave-holding confederate States with reference to the subject of African slavery. ............. Mississippi ................Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun............... South Carolina Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union ...................The General Government, as the common agent, passed laws to carry into effect these stipulations of the States. For many years these laws were executed. But an increasing hostility on the part of the non-slaveholding States to the institution of slavery, has led to a disregard of their obligations, and the laws of the General Government have ceased to effect the objects of the Constitution. ................ Texas: ........................She was received as a commonwealth holding, maintaining and protecting the institution known as negro slavery-- the servitude of the African to the white race within her limits-- a relation that had existed from the first settlement of her wilderness by the white race, and which her people intended should exist in all future time. Her institutions and geographical position established the strongest ties between her and other slave-holding States of the confederacy. Those ties have been strengthened by association. But what has been the course of the government of the United States, and of the people and authorities of the non-slave-holding States, since our connection with them? The controlling majority of the Federal Government, under various pretences and disguises, has so administered the same as to exclude the citizens of the Southern States, unless under odious and unconstitutional restrictions, from all the immense territory owned in common by all the States on the Pacific Ocean, for the avowed purpose of acquiring sufficient power in the common government to use it as a means of destroying the institutions of Texas and her sister slaveholding States. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...s-over/396482/ Louisiana: Address of George Williamson, Commissioner from Louisiana to the Texas Secession Convention As a separate republic, Louisiana remembers too well the whisperings of European diplomacy for the abolition of slavery in the times of anhanexation not to be apprehensive of bolder demonstrations from the same quarter and the North in this country. The people of the slave holding States are bound together by the same necessity and determination to preserve African slavery. Alabama: Stephen F. Hale to Governor Beriah Magoffin (Governor of Kentucky) Upon the principles then announced by Mr. Lincoln and his leading friends, we are bound to expect his administration to be conducted. Hence it is, that in high places, among the Republihacan party, the election of Mr. Lincoln is hailed, not simply as it change of Administration, but as the inauguration of new princihaples, and a new theory of Government, and even as the downfall of slavery. Therefore it is that the election of Mr. Lincoln cannot be regarded otherwise than a solemn declaration, on the part of a great majority of the Northern people, of hostility to the South, her property and her institutions—nothing less than an open declaration of war—for the triumph of this new theory of Government destroys the property of the South, lays waste her fields, and inaugurates all the horrors of a San Domingo servile insurrection, consigning her citizens to assassinations, and. her wives and daughters to pollution and violation, to gratify the lust of half-civilized Africans. Florida Declaration Florida: By the agency of a large proportion of the members from the non slaveholding States books have been published and circulated amongst us the direct tendency and avowed purpose of which is to excite insurrection and servile war with all their attendant horrors. A President has recently been elected, an obscure and illiterate man without experience in public affairs or any general reputation mainly if not exclusively on account of a settled and often proclaimed hostility to our institutions and a fixed purpose to abolish them. It is denied that it is the purpose of the party soon to enter into the possession of the powers of the Federal Government to abolish slavery by any direct legislative act. This has never been charged by any one. But it has been announced by all the leading men and presses of the party that the ultimate accomplishment of this result is its settled purpose and great central principle. That no more slave States shall be admitted into the confederacy and that the slaves from their rapid increase (the highest evidence of the humanity of their owners will become value less. Nothing is more certain than this and at no distant day. What must be the condition of the slaves themselves when their number becomes so large that their labor will be of no value to their owners. Their natural tendency every where shown where the race has existed to idleness vagrancy and crime increased by an inability to procure subsistence. Can any thing be more impudently false than the pretense that this state of things is to be brought about from considerations of humanity to the slaves. ************************************************** *************** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confed...s_of_secession Causes of secession The immediate catalyst for secession was the victory of the Republican Party and the election of Abraham Lincoln as president in the 1860 elections. American Civil War historian James M. McPherson suggested that, for the Southerners, the most ominous feature of the Republican victories in the Congressional and Presidential elections of 1860 was the magnitude of those victories. Republicans captured over 60 percent of the Northern vote, and won three-fourths of its Congressional delegations. The Southern press said that such Republicans represented the anti-slavery portion of the North, "a party founded on the single sentiment ... of hatred of African slavery", and now the controlling power in national affairs. The "Black Republican party" could overwhelm conservative Yankees. The New Orleans Delta said of the Republicans, "It is in fact, essentially, a revolutionary party" to overthrow slavery. ************************************************** **************************** The Civil War, as documented, by their own words, in the various Confederate States declarations of causes was First and Foremost about Slavery. History has been revised, across time, to frame it as "States Rights" but the primary "States Right" was Slavery and the fact the North wanted to get rid of it while the South wanted to keep it. . |
Yankee business men forced the farms into slavery and demanded increased yields or foreclosure on the farms. History is written by the victors.
