Is there really no market for SD content?
Hey there,
these days I tried to sell an archive of SD content (high-res webcam quality) that don't fit our needs. Many people contact me and when I told them it was SD they all said me "there's no market for them". My question is: how's possible? As affiliate actually my best converting sites have just shitty quality images (that pretend to be video screen caps). If the niche is "leaked webcams" (not real ... we have 2257 docs) the quality can't be 4k with amazing light. :error |
640x480 ? 720x480?

It depends what type of content, if its amateur content it should still sell but certainly not as much as HD which I started shooting in like 2008.

It depends how good it is, not the size or SD or HD.

you say webcam quality - but the content is not webcam style, do i understand that correctly?

but for many clients it seems more a psychological issue, people who buy in bulk don't look at individual videos whether they are good or bad - that just want a huge amount and be able to slap an HD logo on it cause it sounds better. |
Put it out there. If it's gay content it will sell.
Gays will buy anything if it shows two dudes doing it. |

I'll watch a 360p scene with hot girls having good sex, shot well before I'll watch a 4k scene with poorly shot, mediocre girls not getting fucked properly.
Quality is measured on the boner-meter, not in pixels or frame rates. |

I took all of our SD scenes and used a program by Red Giant called "Insta 4K" to re-encode it to HD (it will take them all the way to 4K as well).
Did that a few years back. It revitalized our members area. It's VERY intense on your computers CPU and GPU. Takes about a freakin' day to do a 30 minute scene. But it's worth it. The program identifies each pixel and then duplicates it several times. I highly recommend it. But it took me a few weeks of rendering to get all our old scenes up to snuff. And I have a pretty bad ass work computer for video. |

Looks like its well worth the $99 price.

It's better than nothing...but don't expect a miracle tool to transform old shitty video into sparkling, crisp 4k. |
