The appeals court ruled that the First Amendment does not permit a public official using a social media account for "all manner of official purposes" to exclude people from an otherwise open online dialogue because they disagree with the official.

Trump, in his everlasting pursuit to turn America into a fascist country will ignore the ruling.

The poor baby doesn't like to be criticized it hurts his fragile ego. He hasn't got the common sense to be able to debate intelligently so he tries to ban people from his account.

This was ruled on like 2 years ago when he kept banning people from replying to his account.


The ruling was he is using Twitter as a form of offical WH communications and he cant ban people access to that.

I am not sure how I feel about this. It's tricky.

I think public officials should have an official account for social media. In this case, the White House has an an official Twitter account account and an offical Facebook account. These should be managed by the communications staff. Public officials - such as the president - should not be allowed to make official announcements via their personal social media accounts. These should go through official and docmented channels.

Let's remove tRump and the White House from the convesation and repalce it with my local government. My mayor does not use his personal account to city accounments. When the Mayor or the city wants to make an announcement, they can do so through official channels - via their website or email.
