My mother fucked up my computer, HELP!
 

ok, my mom came over to my house to use my computer and I left her on the internet for like 2 hours,

and this morning I got up

and there was 20 pop ups sitting on the desktop,

I guess they are time delayed, and had been going off one by one all night,

and now I want to do some work and I cant view source on any web pages any more,

and IM old fasioned I liek to look at html in notepad,

im running XP,

can anyone help me fix this, I dont see any software running and I dont know how to fix the view source problem,

hey that actually fixed the view source problem,

fucking dumb of me, I would have done that with my old computers,

but with this new one and Xp I tend to let it do its own thing and trust it more

that room is prewired for surround sound. speakers will be embedded in the walls. The fireplace will be black granite so it should look sweet. the whole house (every outlet) has a rj45 hookup. Im wondering if its safe to use a plasma as computer monitor?

I dont see whats wrong with XP, I like it alot, very cool for organizing all my files and my web pages?

I really hated XP at first, but then I figured out how to turn off all the crayola shit and make it look and feel like win2000. So now I'm a convert.

It has some nice features and is build on top of 2k. I have 2k on my desktop and xp on my laptop, but I'm heading toward xp everywhere.

see when I was putting my house in order last year I was gonna wire RJ 45 all over, but then I decided to go with wireless hub but that did not work out, so now IM on a dlink wireless instead of lynsys and its working better,

I bring my laptop downlstairs for parites and I place divx porno on the plasma and mp3s through the system on wireless,

there is a guy on this board who has a plasma in his wall across from his desk and ihe works off it,

and I have a friend in ottawa who has a projection tv pointed at the wall and he works from his coach,

myself I have 2 samsung screens I work from on my desk

if you dont work on 2 screen now, you should get a dual head video card, it will save you hours a day going between windows

to fix your ie up, clear temp files, go to control panel, add remove programs, and click remove IE, then in the options select "fix"

i dont think this makes much sense and I dont think I ll try it either

My mom calles my from Iceland to Spain every month, so I can explain to her how to write me an email. It takes me like half an hour EVERY TIME, and then I get an email saying, " we are fine here, how are you?", and then she calls me again so I can tell her how to read my respons :1orglaugh

Yeah, I´m always really patient with her and guide her the best I can, she´s trying her best :)

My dad on the other hand is terrible, he´s a captain on a fishing boat, they have all thease really high tech stuff to find fish, and it takes him like a few hours to learn how to work the most complex bloody systems I´ve ever seen, but only if it´s directly related to fishing!
He can´t learn how to find the news on the internet for christs sake, but learning how to opperate a Simrad 3751 is a pice of cake :1orglaugh

you know thats a good point, my dads a plumer and he uses a a fyber optic camera to makerecording of the inside of pipers,

and he manages to fix gas lines and not blow peoples houses up,

but he cant do anything on a computer other than solitaire,

its something about the mouse and microsoft that realy turns otherwise smart old people into children

also the best part none of them know what to do, but they have to buy computers adn conect to the internet cause they have to be up with the times,

and ive also notices older generations do much better with computers than baby boomers like my parents,

That is true, I know my friends grandfather helps his father with the internet!

Maybe because the old people have really nothing better to do than learn new stuff, or maybe they have just seen more amazing technologies in theyr life time than the generation of our parents. I mean when my grandmother was growing up cars were only someting very rich people had, and aviation was only something crazy people thought about, so maybe this internet isn´t so amazing to them, they´ve seen it all before :)

there is truth to this, old people are afraid to learn,

really old people have nothing better to do and have a more open mind about this stuff,

the only sure fire thing that would get my dad to learn the internet is if my mom let him visit porn sites,
