Good news! Good move for SanFran'...

The Truth Hurts 06-25-2019 06:50 PM

shit in the streets, massive homeless problem, guys fucking each other in public...

straws and vaping are the real problem... BAN THEM!

also pot and actual cigarettes are just fine, and of course free needles for junkies.

that’ll straighten everything out.

Do you know the slightest thing about vaping?

Name the 4 main ingredients in vaping fluid and tell me which one is a carcinogen.

OneHungLo 06-25-2019 07:04 PM

I thought they were pretty progressive there?

SF is one strange city.

brassmonkey 06-25-2019 07:11 PM

guess who gains in profits by making them illegal... this is a big tobacco move to kill the comp

HairyChick 06-25-2019 07:24 PM

One man recently had one explode and he burned his face severely, nose burned off, eyes damaged and more.

Forget the city but that’s scary.

Unfortunately the media didn't inquire far enough to ask if he'd modified the vape unit.

Much of the time when you hear one of these 'exploding e-cig' stories, its when an idiot modifies a unit without knowing what he's doing.

But it fits the media agenda to leave that part out. Easier just to demonize vaping.

Just keep an eye on the temps and you will be fine.

..yep
"He said traditional tobacco products will "remain untouched by this legislation, even though they kill 40,000 Californians every year". "

I think eciggys need to be under the same regulation especially if they contain nicotine.

As for the safety of them. The vast majority of the flavourings I would not put in my mouth, for example flavouring that makes anything taste like a Krispy Kreme Doughnut with just a few drops... While those sort of flavours might be ok to eat once a day, sitting there, turning the favour into a vapour and inhaling it for hours on end day after day.. possibly not. Go in to any Vape shop and its obvious the flavours are targeted towards teens.

.. and yes, I do vape, a nice discrete little pipe that puts out no more smoke than a cigarette, and I prefer unflavoured juice or just a touch of vanilla.

A gay city bans e-cigarettes? Interesting...

Like the sub header says, "San Francisco has become the first US city to ban e-cigarette sales until their health effects are clearer."

Maybe you're right, but maybe you're wrong.

I have 4 batteries for my drone, and one of them just exploded the other day. I noticed the the other 3 batteries no longer fit into the charger and upon closer examination, each of them were swelling.

A google search told me that sometimes gasses can build up inside certain batteries, causing them to explode. I didn't modify any of the batteries, nor overcharge them. It just sometimes seems to happen with shit batteries.

I don't care if people vape or not but isn't it maybe a good idea to make sure that the materials the pens are made out of are safe, that the batteries inside them are proper, and that the chemicals inhaled are as safe as possible and regulated?

I am so glad I quit smoking.

I don't get the attraction to the "e cigarettes" but... whatever.

Ive had a completely unmodified vape unit explode. I felt an my vape starting to get extremely hot out of no where...threw it out of my pocket and within 10-15 seconds it was smoking and combusted shortly thereafter. It was a Smok "Alien"

Needless to say after that I stopped vaping/nicotine entirely.

Bladewire 06-26-2019 07:32 AM

Marlboro owns 35% of Juul, the largest e-cig company & it's based in San Francisco.

Marlboro got busted years ago for marketing cigarettes to kids by giving them candy tastes.

Juul has candy tastes for their nicotine e-cigs.

Nicotine e-cig use has increased 36% among teens.

I'm not big on banning things. I think if people want to smoke something, and they don't know how it will impact their health, then it's their right to do that it's their body.

I used to smoke some when I was 14, but quit when my dad died of cancer. I tried a few puffs of an e-cig once... meh. I like weed but smoke it only a few times a year.

Most e-cigarettes contains nicotine !!!!!

Most e-cigarettes contains nicotine !!!!!

The e-liquid in all JUULs and most e-cigarettes contains nicotine, the same addictive drug that is in regular cigarettes, cigars, hookah, and other tobacco products. However, nicotine levels are not the same in all types of e-cigarettes, and sometimes product labels do not list the true nicotine content.

The e-cigarette brand JUUL has a significantly higher amount of nicotine per puff than some other types of e-cigarettes and cigarettes. Because of this, JUUL and JUUL-like products may be more addictive than other types of e-cigarettes. Some reports say kids have become physically dependent on nicotine by using JUULs.

There are some e-cigarette brands that claim to be nicotine-free but have been found to contain nicotine.

Not surprising to see the communists here support this.

Mary BongaCash 06-26-2019 09:39 AM

I wonder why only e-cigarettes?

Pg, vg, flavor, nicotine. There are more carcinogens in the food you eat and the water you drink.

I know a kid who had one catch fire or explode in his pants pocket. He had to get skin grafts and a few other surgeries. Was about the size of a softball. Luckily it missed the family jewels. He posted pics on Facebook.

Sounds like a ban on douchebaggery (although vaping girls are really arousing, the device its quite phallic) . . .

HairyChick 06-26-2019 05:05 PM

They contain acetone??? That’s nail polish remover. You aren’t supposed to breathe it in because it’s dangerous yet people are smoking it??

I'm sorry to hear that about your Dad Mark I hope he realized what a great son he raised, what a dynamic, possitive forward moving human being he nurtured to effect change in the world 🙏

Formaldehyde is a colorless, strong-smelling gas used in making building materials and many household products. It is used in pressed-wood products, such as particleboard, plywood, and fiberboard; glues and adhesives; permanent-press fabrics; paper product coatings; and certain insulation materials. Oh, and it preserves the human body.

While it is in the body, so is hydrochloric acid, which is going to cause major problems if it gets into other parts of the body. The same with natural bodily formaldehyde, it has to stay in the appropriate area.

"the EPA has finalized its conclusion that formaldehyde causes leukemia and other cancers and that [the] completed new assessment is ready to be released for public review, but is being held up"

To re-address the balance, a report out today suggests switching to E-Cigs from tobacco can save over £800 ($1016.00) per year...
