Greatest Film Stars Of All Time?
This weekend in the UK one of the tv channels ran a big show called '100 Greatest Film Stars'. They were ranked by public votes and the top ten were the following:
The top 10: 1. Al Pacino 2. Robert De Niro 3. Tom Hanks 4. Kevin Spacey 5. Harrison Ford 6. Jack Nicholson 7. Anthony Hopkins 8. Sean Connery 9. Ewan McGregor 10. Cary Grant Do you agree? Who would you take out or add? Interesting how not a single woman makes the top 10. |

These kind of polls just reflect current thinking.
How could any list of the greatest film actors not have Brando in the top 10 and where is Bogart? Other than those two ommissions this list seems about right. Might just change the order. 1. Marlon Brando Robin Williams Sean Penn (underachiever) Tom Hanks Gene Hackman Denzel Washington Years from now, we may be adding Jim Carey who seems to have great range. He could follow the path of Tom Hanks as a serious actor. Maybe Bogart who starred is some of the best movies of all time, along with John Wayne, cause he is the Duke. Maybe not a great actor, but he was John Wayne. |
